I watched this video recently and based on this I bought such a display. Later I have seen that the Nextion Plug in is depreciated. This is not your fault. I missed this. It was very difficult to bring the Nextion display to life. Uploading to the device worked from the beginning. No problem with this. But there was no communication between Simhub and the Display. After a lot of searching I found the solution. I had to change the baud rate to 115200 instead of 9600 (seems to be the default). Before uploading I had to change the settings of the program in the Nextion Editor to 115200. An in the debug mode I had to send a command bauds=115200 to the device. Then it worked. Just if somebody else has the same issue. Works great although depreciated.

Sim Racing Corner your channel is a hidden gem 👍 not many channels go in depth with building DIY sim gear. Next one I want to try is the pro gauge controller with multiple gauges only down fall is that controller is in Europe and I’d rather find something closer to home. Nextion dashboards can be hard to find. A general google search may reveal a few more out there, but they're spread out rather than a single place to find them.

You can, you have you search around in the Nextion editor for the asset and replace it.

It's just a different thing doing a similar job. There's no practical reason to swap from an Android phone app.

There are links in the description of the parts required. Depends on the screen size changes the cost. It's cheap. You can run multiple Nextion screens at once. So the same as this, with different dash info if you wish.

I watched your video and see you have the same issue. I recognize if you are shifting, the nextion display shows allways an N between the gears. Are there any idears to eliminat this? Is this specific to ACC?

This occurs in all titles. In fact also on my Leo Bodnar SLI-M which isn't driven by SimHub. Shifting between gears is passing neutral in between those gears so it's being registered. So it's down to the game output telemetry, not the display fault.

Yes, you can. The only reason you might want to use an Arduino is if you want to add rev light/shift LEDs to your display. Of course, you'll need to program the Arduino for all this to work. You can find stuff online on this type of configuration.

The free version locks down the Nextion to a lower refresh rate so it's best buy a license. It's donationware so you pretty much pick the price, so it's not a lot.

SimHub only works on PC. The Android app communicates with the PC client.

hey, I got the nextion 4.3 and also a Arduino nano but i cant figure out how to make them work together. @@SimRacingCorner I figured it out! so if anyone want to do the same and connect a Arduino to a nextion display then do the following: 1.instead of connecting RX - TX and TX - RX you have to connect RX - RX and TX -TX. 2. use a jumper cable and connect RST to ground. the rest of the steps are all the same. Btw touch screen also works :)

You're effectively overwriting the onboard flash memory when you upload to the Nextion. So you'll need the original code to rewrite it to the factory state.

No, as the Nextion can not take a direct video feed from the PC, the dashboard is uploaded to and stored on the Nextion memory. Z1 Dashboard just creates a windowed dashboard on your desktop which you can move around or present on another monitor.

Okay, the Serial to USB adaptor is at fault, not the Nextion. In the video, I mention that you need to make sure you have a Windows 10 compatible Serial to USB adaptor. The yellow exclamation mark means it is not. So you need to replace that adaptor. Links in the description to ones that will work.

For some reason when I try to upload a dashboard, it says nextion not detected or whatever. I’m talking about the step at around 6:00. I have the screen plugged into a pro micro controller and the screen seems to be working just fine as it shows those intro screens and “tests” while being plugged in.
