I bought a 1968 MGC roadster in 1984 and sold it two years later something I always regretted until I was able to buy another three years ago. I've also owned 3 MG B roadsters 4 BGTs and a MG TF 1300

I owned a ‘69 MGC in 1977. Another in a line of cars I wish I held on to. Looking forward to watching your progress.

Love the Video! I'm about to take on the same project on a 1969 MGC. Would love to see the teardown of the rear quarterpanel AND how you chose to brace the body. By the way, when I work on my car, I typically don't wear such a nice sweater. Cheers!

Why are you digging out filler when you are replacing the wing?

Don't waste your time stripping paint off good front wings, doors, boot lid or bonnet. Take them down and get them shot blasted, you know then it's taken back to rust free bare metal, the shot blasters will either etch or zinc prime them, then when refitted all you have to do is make good any imperfections in the metal before respraying. It will save you hours of time. Regarding the bonnet if it's alloy don't get that shot blasted! I've just finished restoring my C and this is what I did, the shot blasters chemically stripped my alloy bonnet by hand and then applied an alloy etch primer. The rear wings on my C had gone of the lower sections, so same problem as you've got, except I cut along the swage line and had new lower wing sections Tig welded on. You'll probably find the rear spring hangers have rotted out, so it will be easy to replace the new rails with the wings out the way!

Hey There! Great video. How bad can rusting and corrosion take a toll on a car where you come from? I live in the Midwestern United States near the Great Lakes and--if not taken care of--cars can decay pretty quickly over here. Keep up the good work!

Hey! Thank you very much. Yeah here in the UK our rust situation is also pretty bad. We have salt on the roads during the icy days in winter which eats everything steel. Then all of a sudden we get a mild week so the reaction gets even worse, plus even the bits which didn't get salt on them suddenly condensate. My Mother put her foot through the floor of an eight year old Ford Cortina back in the 1980s! Keeps me busy though.

Ever heard of PPE?

DA sanders don't spin, so no need for goggles. Henry Hoover also does a sound job of dust extraction

Don't worry too much mate. Most hospitals are half empty now.

Why all the wasted time striping the wings if you got new ones ?????????????
