Interesting. Thank you, Duf. 17:07 - Wind resistance / wind loss / windage, is definitely a major drag on your speed. Compare the surface roughness of your clothing and safety gear to the lack of surface roughness of the outfits worn by bicycle racers. Although I am still learning to ride my Sherman Max, I do have many decades of experience doing multi-week long-distance bicycle tours. Because cyclists are their own engine, they learn very quickly the effect of surface roughness upon energy demand. You have probably noticed that cyclists wear Lycra [TM] stretch clothing. It is for at least two reasons: the stretchiness reduces chafing against the continuously-moving lower portions of the body- perhaps not particularly relevant to EUC riding - but also it is wind-slippery. The stretchiness also helps avoid inefficient flapping of the textiles. Smooth and sleek is good. In contrast, every part of your outfit, plus your angular helmet, is rough with bits sticking out and grabbing hold of the wind. The shredding of air wastes energy. It might be interesting to compare constant-speed distance runs with rider wearing typical EUC clothing and gear, and same constant speed distance runs with same rider wearing sleek cycling clothing. The results would speak to the beneficial effect upon efficiency of sleek clothing and gear.

I have done a decent amount of road cycling in the past so I have experience with what you are referring to. I think the combo of the wind pressure and the loose connection I have to the wheel make going much faster feel like a very bad idea.

I just got ETmax yesterday...First real ride today only 10 miles long but I hit 51.5 MPH wheel speed. Obviously, still getting used to the wheel with less than 30 miles on it. so far.
@Duf6 ай бұрын
You wasted little time. That was one of my early comments, the wheel is very easy to get used to and does not take a long acclimation period like some wheels do.

Begode speed is off by 10% leaperkim is 6% so if your getting "the same speed" your actually going faster on the lynx

Don’t bust an ankle, you’ll regret it for sure. Some kind of padding or protection (though admittedly in Florida would be warm) is recommended. 👍🏻🏴😊

As far as grabby people with a camera on the ground consider putting it on a mini tripod. It will look like it is purposeful rather than seeming dropped on the ground. Also maybe a little "smile you're on camera" sticker/ flag.

Great speed runs. If I ever upgrade from my Master the ET Max is the one....tho the range wheel has to come first. Nice body armor. I have the same exact one. Not super $$$ and does its job. The stapes are a little cheesy tho. 46.5 is still my fastest speed on the Master so you got me beat HAHA
@Duf6 ай бұрын
Yea the armor was cheap and I have never had to put it to the test, thankfully. I probably should invest in something better though eventually.
