With MTB's or any cycles they use rim tape to also make sure that the tube does not have any rough edges but man this is a total valve rip off and slime would not have worked. Nothing much you can do when this happen as its almost like a quick loss of air and if the tyre is soft its gone. I had a fall like this a few year back on my road bike where the front tyre just gave away and I was doing push ups on the road with skinny cycling gloves. Not fun as it happens so quick. Hope the new tubeless setup is going to be better. You also get tubeless specific slime that might be a second protection. Keep well.
@Andre-Mostert11 сағат бұрын
Glad you are ok and the gear worked. This is also one of the things in the back of my mind the whole time when riding on the road. If you do fall I am fine with that but its the other people around you that might not be quick enough to react and can hit you. That road is super busy and the cycle path is narrow. I am just glad you are ok. Keep well and hope you get back riding. Did you have slime in the tube and wonder if that would have helped.

Yes, this is a hobby. But in isolation, these are still legitimate vehicles, using some rapidly developing tech. And they cost as much too. Dropping a hobby is one thing. But selling off any particular mode of transport is part of the EV game. Losing a riding buddy is always tough though.

This wheel is a great size for the "last mile" as you said. Some areas public transport doesn't allow big battery items like this and if needed you can conceal it in a (large) backpack. I had the solo wheel Glide 3 in 2018 and loved it as an alternative to my larger wheel when I just needed to make a quick run to the mini Mart or whatever. I have a Qidi Tech X-Plus II , it is a few years old now but it has proved to be a workhorse, very reliable fully enclosed printer. It doesn't have some of the auto-bed levelling features, perhaps not as fast and not multi colours. None of these things are anything too me so that's not a problem. I have multiple extruder assembles for the printer which makes it easy to change nozzles and and materials very quickly. For EUC's I have printed handles (ABS), foot-stands (PLA), EUC Stands (PLA), seats (TPU), power pads (TPU), even pedals/footplates in carbon fibre nylon (Nylon PA12) for my Ninebot One E+. My printer is in my workshop and I send files to it over the network from the house because I am a little concerned about microplastics (enclosed printer with home made carbon filter) and fumes particularly for ABS. I have a sensible (not so sensible) selection of Benchy's in various materials as well 🙂 Would be interested to see some items in multicolour, labels, signs, models, all come to mind. If I design anything I do it on AutoDesk Fusion, but that's a whole different story, I find that by far the most difficult part of the process depending on what it is I wish to make.

Bought a second hand V13 with 5000km on it. Look like the previous owner went ham with it offroad and busted the suspension. Ordered the air shocks you have from the same company. Had to order limiter washer from Aliexpress, since no vendor in North America sell them and vendors from Europe don't ship to NA. Waiting for them to arrive and get to start rebuilding. Sounds like it's working great for you.

Generally any wheel doesnt like to be sat on while stationary for more than about 1 minute Id say. It causes wheels to overheat as well, it seems to draw a lot of computing power on the controller for having to constantly adjust back and forth while not rolling. Ive had wheels also power off while sitting before and then had to turn it off and on again. Its not just the v13 that does this. That suspension is really quiet, thats a nice benefit for sure. Great video!

I have sat on other wheels on hard surfaces for very long times when I used them as barstools :) Makes sense though the soft sand would make the wheel constantly work.

Kingsong gets a lot of grief but my favourite wheel is the S19. Good suspension and not too heavy. Good pedal height. I rarely ride my ex30 anymore. Really starting enjoy lower pedals and lighter wheels. Wish the top speed was 45 mph though. Just for the margin of safety. I would consider another singsong wheel.

In so many professions the client has reliance upon thorough quality assurance. Looking at what can happen (injuries, property damage, loss of life or even just inconvenience) full testing and accounting for all use cases it seems better to have real life use to make software robust. Those in house tests sitting a wheel on a testing platform like a treadmill might help with mechanical but only limited software testing. Who does the most real life testing?
@Duf13 күн бұрын
Well if you saw the Inmotion factory tour they do have machines that test various aspects of the wheel like you describe. However nothing beats extended real world testing IMO.
