I would love to see his daily practice routine. I wonder if the ducktape on the bass drum helps with double triggering and no-sound hits. To read it all i have to jack up the gain setting but them the snare will trigger the bass drum and the bass player too.

I think another main reason is to simply hold the beater patches in place (which is pathetic because the new products out there don't have the same adherence problems like in the past). But there are other ways around killing the life out of your bass drums to get a solid triggering signal. You have to play with the settings (crosstalk, sensitivity, etc.) on the module. Really, duct tape is not the best solution, but a) this is blackened death metal, and b) this is blackened death metal. If a cleaner sound were required, it would sound like shit. A lot of it has to do with head selection and tuning. That proper combination eliminates a lot of triggering problems.

Finally someone said it! Never enjoyed the RUDE series. Just not musical sounding cymbals to me. Only reason I think they work for Inferno is they have a very defined attack and short sustain making them ideal for quick fills and blasting on without losing clarity.

this is why im happy rock is getting more popular and more and more people are realizing drummers play with their feet too. So many people think they are just tapping their feet on the ground to keep the beat, or they are sitting far away and can't see them moving their legs at all, it makes me sad. hopefully the meteoric rise of metal, which should be complete by the end of spring, will lead to drummers getting more respect.
