This took a long time, but this video covers the different versions of Zoda, WITH some omissions here and there for the sake of the video's length. Also, you will be spoiled on some details of the F-Zero Anime (in which case, you should watch that, to the end, before this video).

I'm not a huge fan of Zoda as you can already tell but you left some details out... Like that shoot out he had with Andy Summer and Jody. And how he became a criminal when he was the thief in a bakery and he's always obsessed with cakes and stuff. Then he was frozen when he intruded the East Bank as was Haruka. I think his last name was Strawberry too, forgot his birth date.

So, Chapter 3 is where Zoda gets into a struggle with Super Arrow, and the scene comes back that Zoda is calm with Super Arrow and Mrs. Arrow

The dude is very Joker-esque, seeming like an agent of chaos. What I find more interesting is how the F-Zero Committee allows such drivers into their race and how other government bodies can't touch participants, at least directly, during events. What kind of political pull do they have in this universe? They are like a futuristic racing version of FIFA.

In the games, the merchants who found F-Zero way back did not even think about the character of their competitors (like having Samurai Goroh operating an allegedly stolen vehicle, and well, Pico's behavior speaks for himself). As for political pull, well...F-Zero was so big that society was literally dependent on it. If not for it, trade with other planets might not have exploded for example (a theory but several advertisements in X could show how much advertisements there were if looking at sign on tracks). In F-Zero Maximum Velocity especially, there's a sense that once the merchants decided to stop expanding, plus being pressured to call off races, the rest of society almost didn't know how to function. For example, F-Zero became so big as a sport that highly paid football stars struggle to find their way in society, choosing to turn to F-Zero to make money (a theory, but the Maximum Velocity instruction booklet also says that since Bianca City discovered some new resource, anyone who did business in Mute City migrated and their former home became little more than a husk of its former self while Bianca City flourished overnight--not unlike Wakanda in the Marvel Comics). Consider this the merchant's attempt at cleaning up F-Zero's image 25 years after the original Grand Prix (SNES) F-Zero GX's choice in pilots, especially the AX pilots is one that would violate the regulations of sports leagues around our world. This is the kind of organization that could be like a boxing league that has no regard for weight classes. Otherwise, Characters younger than Leon would not be allowed to participate and there is a host of such characters. And in the anime, someone took over from the inside. Because someone like Deathborn of all people should not be seen in the boardroom with others. It's possible he may have bought his way in even. Regardless, these instances and more are likely a major reason F-Zero can be seen as a corrupted sport.

@@custom-r The issue I take with this is partly how hammy the whole roster and setup is. Everyone's either mechanically enhanced or buff in some way, with an exception or two of course. The guy that was literally causing chaos just the day before, and would hurt the imagery of the F Zero franchise, still getting to race. How every dispute needs to be settled 'on the track'. How the big bad just shows up, takes out the old big bad, and then challenges falcon to a race. many of the pilot profile movies, especially Black Shadow's pilot profile movie. You ask me, this is more akin to a huge WWE style entertainment industry instead of actual sport.

zoda is that type of villain that when you look at it is that character who wants to be the greatest villain but ends up getting screwed or always failing but after I saw the anime and see what he really is the story is another. Practically when I play some F-ZERO that has the 30 traditional pilots I automatically imagine I imagine the anime staff so good that it is as if it actually had more content.
