I'm glad they got some professional reenactors for the British. They already have the costumes and know the behavior/ROE of the troops, and it made the video incredibly realistic.

You guys are doing some really great things...If ever there was an Adobe commercial, you guys are it. Respect for being so real and unpretentious, explaining parts of the process with an actual 'behind the scenes'. In fact i can't recall ever seeing a being the scenes that was so behind the scenes.

I'm in a theater youth group, in every other show we'll have a fight scene, we audition for parts, act, do set, costumes, lights, and so on! And seeing this was so cool, it felt like an intense version of what we do. So cool, so well done, great work. //

Depends on exactly what the effect is. The Action Essentials pack for Aftereffects includes a variety of blood hits and spurts. You can also make stock footage of your own for something like bullet hits by covering two erasers with red chalk dust and clapping them against a green screen. There are ways to do live blood effects, but they can get complex and you risk messing up your clothes and the scenery. Plus the cost of the blood.

Depends on how much speed you can work up, right? The friction slows down the movement, but maybe not in time before you can reach the ground if the system has sufficient speed.

Lead packets. You know, to A) hold that coat/hood in place should the wind blow, you don't wanna have your identity revealed and B) the extra weight helps when you train. So just guessing, the added 50 lbs to his normal human body weight (about 6'2, maybe 185lbs) would be a pretty potent counterweight. But looking at his weaponry, it seems more likely that the quirt would rip out of the guy first and pull a chunk along with it. The blade seems too smooth to really 'hook' into a guy.
