I spotted my cousin-Susan Myrick - she was tech advisor - Southern mannerisms and speech.

This video is really nice, because it gives you a “feel” of how it was, on the set during the actual filming. The pictures actually allow Vivian to still be respected for her art form and yet be seen, somewhat as herself, at the time. Notice the cigarettes she’s smoking in several of the candid shots? You know, I read somewhere that she dreaded the kissing scenes with her handsome co-star, Clark Gable (Rhett). She was definitely worthy of her Oscar, she shows no dread in these pictures.

Walter Plunkett’s costumes were a masterpiece by themselves. I’m glad that Vivien stuck to her guns and not let Fleming turn her into the whore he wanted Scarlett to be. But she stuck as closely to the book as he let her and she had Selznick’s backing too. I find it incredible to believe I’m nearly four years older than her when she died. Vivien, you will live forever.

If Ashley had looked like Rhett, I could see it, but I think they chose the wrong man for him. Then again, I guess the comparison had to be made.
@daphneduryea91363 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they needed the comparison so that the audience would be confounded by Scarlett's continued infatuation with Ashley when Rhett was so obviously the perfect match for her. Never in movie history has there been such a perfect match than Scarlett & Rhett. They were a breathtakingly beautiful couple. I get so frustrated, I want to take Scarlett & shake her for not wanting Rhett over Ashley.

@@daphneduryea9136 Ashley had self respect dignity and morality. Rhett had arrogance manipulation and self interest. She was going for the right man. Rhett was garbage in beautiful clothes.

@@lightshift3431 U r funny. Rhett was there in times of need. He also knew how to survive and make money. Is what a real man does. Ashley was ok, but totally useless. He couldn't even use the hammer. Didn't have any strenght.

Both Ashley and Rett were weak. Rett should be play by Robert Taylor.

Great photos. Great movie even though lots of the actors were trying to be cute or act cute like Vivian Leigh with her "War, war, war (aren't I cute? kinda of thing)" The movie is now completely outdated !! I fail to see how it was "the best movie ever made". Maybe it was in 1946/7 but not now !

"Actors trying to be cute"? What does that even mean? You clearly do not have the sophistication or historical understanding or artistic understanding of why this is one of the best movies ever made. Stick with Disney cartoons.
