Thank you for sharing this video of a day in the life at Esoteric ! The shop is busier than I ever imagined which makes it all the more amazing that you are able to take the time to create videos for your YT subscribers/viewers. Esoteric has the opportunity to work on some amazing and beautiful cars and, with all the business, it looks like Esoteric has some highly satisfied customers.

The behind-the-scenes definitely puts it in perspective on how much is involved, how many quality people you need to make things work and just how much dedication it takes. Of course you're going to have ups and downs with everything but definitely appreciate seeing this and it's eye-opening what a high-end shop deals with. Always been a fan of the channel and really enjoy content like this! Can only imagine how much you have to clear to pay everyone but that is the secret sauce you learn overtime.

Todd, thank you for putting this video together, excited to see all the vehicles being worked in the shop. Also, hearing you’re a Pink Floyd fan, I’ll show my age; I had the pleasure of seeing Pink Floyd / David Gilmore around 30 times worldwide. I run 5-miles every day with Pink Floyd playing through my earbuds.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I'm jealous that you got to see them that much. We have a handful of guys here at the shop who are Pink Floyd fans, and I'm doing my best to expose the young guys here to as much of it as possible. I've only seen them twice in concert, and Roger Waters twice as well. But they've been my only favorite band since I was a teenager!

Peter from the U.K. here. Just subscribed....enjoyed the video. Interesting re PPF - seems as in all things in life there are good ways of applying and bad ways. My car here in the UK has PPF applied from pre-cut templates but I have learnt that maybe that's not always great as the PPF does not seamlessly go around bonnet and door shut returns on pre-cut patterned templates.
@Esotericdetail
@Esotericdetail 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the subscribe! There's nothing wrong with pre-cut templates, as long as the install quality is good. Also, the templates (patterns) can be modified so that the edges extend in order to tuck them in wherever possible.

Yo Todd...great video on a day in the life of Esoteric. BTW, I noticed not one car cover on any of the cars that were finished & waiting for pickup and/or being stored. Is there an Esoteric video I missed on car covers being taboo?
@Esotericdetail
@Esotericdetail 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Unless somebody brings us their brand-new-condition cover, we do not use them. Most of these cars are getting coated, and I wouldn't recommend applying a (very high quality) cover for at least a week.
@747rotate
@747rotate 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Todd, After doing a paint correction I've seen some vehicles that have such a mirror shine it's almost blinding. In doing so are they removing all of the clearcoat and actually polishing the paint? I've seen some that after finishing there is no orange peel whatsoever. I just don't see how just by polishing the clearcoat you could achieve those kind of results. I've noticed some people do wet sanding to have those kind of results but no way in hell would I ever wet sand my car. Because in the long run you're just asking for trouble. Great video by the way. Thank you.
@Esotericdetail
@Esotericdetail 2 жыл бұрын
Removing orange peel on factory painted cars is a big no-no. Yes, you can get insane shine and reflectivity by simply polishing the clear coat and not removing orange peel. If you were to remove all of the clear coat, the paint underneath would be more of a dull finish. Glad you liked the video.

never heard of a high end detail place that details cars partly.......leave them outside......and then finish them. sounds like a carpenter taking a job and leaving mid job to go work on other jobs. car should be inside once you start it till its completely finished.
@Esotericdetail
@Esotericdetail 2 жыл бұрын
In a perfect world where you have tons of space, and time to do an immediate handoff from one department to the next, yes. In a case like this, the car would get washed again after PPF, then back inside for finish detailing. Being outside has zero effect on the finished product. It's a non-issue.
