I decided to try an AIO combined with the yellow Rupes wool pad earlier this year as I only had minor swirls having corrected previously (UNO Protect wasn’t out yet). On medium/hard paint it gave excellent results then topped with a spray SiO2 sealant after the next wash a week later. I took my time with each polishing set but it still took only half a day and I was done. No IPA wipe downs after and moving on to protection stages. I’m going to get my hands on some Uno Protect to try next time. An AIO enhancement is all I need and you have to remember that a car has only so much clear coat so a full polish year after year isn’t a good idea.

Great explanation on how the product works especially showing how it can be used with the three different pads and that it is a fast finish product that looks to be just what the Doctor ordered. This is really something I will be using because the older I get the less I want to do the heavy corrections and I enjoy doing the polishes that make it look like a million bucks. Question though on the coating part, because most of my polishing is prep work before coating. So, is this more for a car that currently has a coating but it's older or is this more for a car that doesn't have any coating at all and we're just going to use a spray coating after the polish for maintenance to the protection that's just been applied? Is that because of the fillers? Is there a book you can recommend that explains the ins and outs of polishing? Thanks for all you do for us.
@Esotericdetail4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the positive feedback. If you're working with coatings, this is not the product for you because it contains 3 different kinds of waxes / protection in it and your coating will not bond. If you're doing a quick prepping for a coating, then you'd be more interested in their Uno polish, which has no protection in it. There's no book(s) I can recommend on this subject, as it changes rapidly. Perhaps one of our classes might be well suited for you! www.esotericcarcare.com/training/

@markzl16084 жыл бұрын
First time I’ve seen this product but if it’s doing any correction/cut then I wouldn’t do it every 6 months. This would take thin layers off your clear every time you use it. No big deal if you do it 2-3 times but I imagine 4-6 times will start stripping away your clear coat more than you want. Still, I’m just speculating.
@Esotericdetail4 жыл бұрын
If you feel you need to do correction every 6 months, then you need to work on your washing / drying methods. You may want to do this (maybe) once per year. You could decontaminate the paint, then use Rupes Uno. For the rest of the year, you can apply some kind of sealant / wax / etc to protect it since the protection in this product will only last a few months.

I feel like I might be using this product incorrectly or something. I've used about 2 of the 1000 ML bottles so I think I have decent experience with the product, I use a Griot's G9 and Rupes Medium wool pads every time. I use the wool pad for slightly higher cut without having to finish with another pad. Every time I use this, I expect to get a better cut than I do. It does return gloss, clarity and I like the sealant - but it's really disappointment, sometimes, to spend 1hr+ polishing a vehicle and still have swirls and water spots, especially defects that I consider superficial. Do you have a recommendation on pad for 80% percent defect removal without having to polish? Maybe my expectations need to be adjusted. Thanks.
@Esotericdetail3 жыл бұрын

@@Esotericdetail Thanks for your reply. I shouldn't be able to expect superficial swirls and light etching/waterspots to be removed with this and a wool pad?
@Esotericdetail3 жыл бұрын
@@kylegeldmaker Superficial is subjective at best, and for etching, it can be difficult to remove with heavy compound and a slow process. If somebody's looking for a higher level of correction, you need to sell them on a higher level process.
@kylegeldmaker3 жыл бұрын
@@Esotericdetail Thank you. I understand what you're saying.
@STILLNIGHTPEARL2 жыл бұрын
@@kylegeldmaker usually heavier swirls and heavier water spots that have somewhat etched on the surface requires more than just a quick AIO style pass that takes an hour plus around the vehicle. That’s more of a one step process, slower arm speed, moderate pressure; going over the paint with fast arm speed and light pressure is only going to brighten up the paint for the most part, remove some of that hazy look, light water spots, light swirls on soft paint, you’re not going to improve it much more than that. Like esoteric said, even some water spots barely come out with heavy pressure, slow arm speed with a heavy compound, and I agree, sometimes I take my rotary, wool pad, M100 combo and those suckers barely level out, and that’s a serious combo, paint hardness makes a difference, there’s just so many variables. These AIO products are great, but they simply can’t do it all, sometimes you simply need to grab a stronger dedicated polish or compound and adjust your technique. Like esoteric said, if the customer wants more correction, you need to explain to them what needs to be done, and adjust the price accordingly, don’t try to do it at a lower price because you’re going to work extra for it, and then feel like you weren’t compensated enough for all of that extra work, but remember that you promised those results at that price, so now you pretty much have to deliver at the lower price, you don’t want to have that feeling that you’re doing extra for free. Detailing is a lot of work, pads, chemicals, machines aren’t cheap, ultimately time is money, you got to make the best out of it.

Excellent video @Todd, how would you compare the cut & finish, minus the protection, to perfect finish?

Is that fine to apply coating over this product?
@Esotericdetail4 жыл бұрын
No it is not. The waxes inside this product will prevent bonding of a coating. They soon will be releasing a similar product to this that is designed to put coating on top of it. Stay tuned...

What would you top this with if anything?
@Esotericdetail3 жыл бұрын
Nothing. The person looking for this level of polishing isn't in the market for the highest level of durability. Quick, simple, and effective is the key with this one.

No need to. Could you? Perhaps. But is somebody at this level looking for really extended durability? Probably not.

is this product suitable for Boat GelCoat?
@Esotericdetail4 жыл бұрын
It would be fine to use, but gel coats typically require a heavier level of polish. So it just depends on how bad of shape the boat is in.

What is the real world length of protection this typically leaves behind? Curious if I could perform this in a vehicle and then coat with with say Jescars powerlock?
@Esotericdetail4 жыл бұрын
You'd probably get a few months worth of durability out of this...similar to what you might get out of a wax. It would be worth a try to use Jescar on top of it as I'm not sure if it would have any potential bonding issues.

I was wondering this same thing. I just did my car with Uno and it’s still sitting in the garage. I think I’ll throw some Powerlock on top and see how it goes. The Uno Protect was really easy to use. It had a long working time and virtually no dust. I think it’s going to be a great product to use to freshen up my paint every few months. My wash process is great so I don’t typically get scratches but because of where I work I get a lot of contamination on the surface that needs to be clayed off and then a quick polish afterwards. I think this is my new go-to product for this. 👍

I am about to buy this product. I have used the 3D HD Speed that is also very good. Have you used 3D HD Speed? From what I have seen with these all in one polishes is that the wool pads are the best combo for them. I love the HD Speed with a microfibre pad.
@Esotericdetail4 жыл бұрын
A heavy cut pad like MF or wool would normally be the least popular with a product like this. The most common would be a foam polishing pad.
@alexisamtosta4 жыл бұрын
@@Esotericdetail I have been using a MF pad with my 3D HD Speed and it does work very well for me. Of course MF pads dont work well on all paints. I also use Autoglym Rapid Renovator with a MF pad and also with a Wurth hard blue pad and both work very well. Those wurth pads are excellent. Im about to buy the Rupes Uno and the 3D ONE and will try both type of pads. Never used a wool pad yet but Scott from Dallas Paint Correction has a nice video using a All in One polish with a Rupes medium wool pad and its a very good combo.

@Esotericdetail4 жыл бұрын
Would argue that with Sonax Perfect Finish, but this product here isn't considered the same as a one-step. With a one-step, you're typically going for as much correction as you can get with one type of pad and polish. With this, you're getting some correction with protection being added, and doing it quickly.

How many pads would you use for something like this? And do they get caked up with product and need to be blown out?
@Esotericdetail3 жыл бұрын
Probably go through 6 or so pads per car. Blowing out doesn't do much because the foam itself gets saturated inside.
