After watching some of the scissor lift B-Roll, I was reminded of another thing that Joe Walker (Editor) managed to imbue in the film: The essentials. We don't even get footage of entrance to the other shells (do they also use scissor lifts? What kind of approaches did they use that didn't work?) because the focus is on this particular one (in Montana). PS: And yes, I'm also wondering how they were able to avoid getting extreme eye strain while shooting those sequences in the chamber! PPS: Denis' shirt at 7:18 :)))))))

well the light there is a big soft source, i should imagine it looks way less contrasty in real life, cameras always exaggerate this, i also don't think the light needed to be very intense since they where shooting with Alexa cameras

You can see same thing being done with Lubezki on the Revenant. You detach most of the camera's brain and give it to AC while still being connected to the sensor by wires so that operator has to endure less weight when shooting and focus better on cinematography.

Gets me thinking of how Jeremy said the directors French accent made him sound like saying "and we are going to fuck us on you" ("focus" was intended...). And I notice he says cut in French all together - "Coupez!" And the dude aiming the gun makes me think of that idiot Alec Baldwin. I'm behind Alec Baldwin - it's too dangerous to be in front of him! (I stole that joke from somebody's excellent comment. If you recognize it - yeah, it's yours)
