Yeah, you do a great job free flying the elevation part. My opinion is that the elevation control is a major element between an OK video and a spectacular video. This is where the Avata I think is going to have an edge. I believe it uses downward facing IR sensors, as well as downward vision with Optical Flow, to precisely control elevation indoors. If you watch real estate videos made using the Avata, I think you will notice the insane, locked on elevation flow right off. Anyway, good stuff man. I really like the little birdseye PnP of the trajectory. Very nice touch.

@@Beerbatter1962 Hey there, I noticed in this video that the operator is using a GoPro mounted on top of the drone. Would you or anyone else here recommend that set up over the onboard/stock Avata camera? What about with the DJI O3 Air Unit add-on?
@Beerbatter196211 ай бұрын
@@wTwigAlthough the Avata camera is a good improvement, I still don't think you get the best solution for cinematography compared to a dedicated footage camera. You won't get the best frame rate, and other useful features trying to combine your flying camera with your footage camera. In general, go with whatever camera provides what you need considering the resolution, frame rate, real-time exposure control, stabilization, and weight.
@wTwig11 ай бұрын
@@Beerbatter1962 Thank you very much for this feedback. I will mostly be focused on real estate tours, property footage, and the occasional unique fly-through videos of businesses in my area wanting some unique marketing. In my head a Go-Pro is overkill for this, but I also know they have incredible product support and are the upper echelon of recording devices for these exact scenarios (action/moving footage). Do you think it is worth it to just grab a GoPro alongside my Avata purchase? I am trying to be sure I don't invest in a product that won't provide the immediate level of performance I need. I can't seem to clearly grasp how well the Avata performs standalone compared to with an onboard camera.

Thanks! The main thing that separates this from standard filming with a gimbal is that it's one continuous take throughout the entire property. It's difficult to lose sense of where you are. For someone wanting to get into real state drone work as a job but having no experience yet, would you advise them to just start with something ready to go like the DJI Avata or put together a setup like yours in your part 1 video? (not worried about cost)
@TRONCATFPV2 жыл бұрын
I don't think the Avata will be replacing my custom built drones. The avata is bigger and has more thrust so I'm cautious of the houses that I fly it in. Also, since the Avata has sensors on it i'm not sure how those will interact with objects in the house (if you were to fly close to counter tops it may increase altitude to avoid it) Personally, I think custom built is the way to go. You can get it under 250g easily, can fit in tighter spaces, can put a variety of cameras on board, you won't have to worry about airspace restrictions when indoors, and it will cost much less than an Avata.

@meechcreativellc2 жыл бұрын
That's not how that works. You need the 107 first. If the video you shoot is being used "in furtherance of a business" which the sale of a property is just that, same as handing off to a real estate agent or person self selling, it's commercial and you need the 107.

@@meechcreativellc but I won't be selling any service yet. It will only be part of my portfolio so I can start populating it. Do I need the 107 for that?
@meechcreativellc2 жыл бұрын
@@neilfpv So, here’s where it gets weird…so stick with me. As I have known and understood the rules, you can’t fly / shoot as a recreational pilot and then say, two years later use that footage in a commercial manner. Meaning that the flight in which you captured the footage, had to be under Part 107. Now, I am one who respects rules and regs, and the spirit of them. But, if your intent is to build a portfolio, which ultimately will be used in “the furtherance of a business” then yes, technically you should only use this time to shoot for yourself, for practice, etc. Then, get that legit first client and use that imagery for promotion and build from there. Now, that’s how I would do it if I were once again a newbie. That being said, the likelihood of there being repercussions from the use of a few pics starting out is slim. Now, IF there was an accident, on the shoot, and you’re not Part 107, insured, etc. with a cleared flight plan…then that’s where it gets bad. Hope that helped!

The garage is the kind of thing I like to show quickly when flying outside. Bathrooms are usually too small and interrupt the overall flow of the video and can be difficult to fly in since they're so tight. Bigger bathrooms like a master bath I will film. What we charge varies depending on the size of the house and what the client wants. A lot of our clients also use us for photography, floor plan, and matterport services in addition to indoor FPV. Thanks! For these projects I have different tiers set up on my site (newenglanddronetours.com) that vary depending on the properties size. It also varies depending on what the client wants (we also offer photography & floorplan services) I've been getting this question more and more and will probably end up making a video on real estate FPV pricing.

Do you think you could have used the analog 25 with the go pro and got the same results ?
@TRONCATFPV2 жыл бұрын
Possibly, I don't know if I would have had as good reception when flying outside though.

Great video! That’s what I bought my Avata for. Did you shoot that whole video in one take?? I didn’t notice any transitions. Great job!

Glad you liked the video! I go over all the gear I used in the first video on the playlist. Future videos will have more in depth camera & drone settings 👍

Awesome video, great work, How in the world does that camera get such good window pulls?? Was that house nice and bright? Either way, great job and thanks for creating this content.

I am new to fpv, and I am wondering, why are you using GoPro and not DJI O3 air unit, wouldn't it reduce weight of the drone without compriming the quality of the footage?
@TRONCATFPV Жыл бұрын
When this video was released the O3 was not released yet. I have a 2.5" cinewhoop that has O3 on it and I use it as "backup" footage. O3 video quality (imo) isn't nearly as good as a GP11.
