I refuse to believe these cars are in any way, shape or form, safe to drive. They're being held together by tape, bubble gum and prayers. A stiff breeze and they'll crumble like wet toilet paper. How they passed their MOTs is beyond me.

I've driven a van where a wheel literally popped off and rolled along the road in front of me when I stopped once. Passed its MOT no problems. See the trick is having so much rust on the thing that the guy can't see all the issues. :D

I don't think the UK cares that much. There were loads of Soviet cars in the UK a decade a go (I think we were one of their larges export markets), but mostly they're in scrap yards . Seeing as I generally don't spend more than £300-£500 on cars (what's air conditioning?) there's plenty of older stuff like these about these days.

The way it looked, Big daddy was a totally different engine. It's quite likely if not actually a newer 'more powerful' (as if either has real power) engine.

Big Daddy was defo engine swapped so there's no use there. As for the rest, it's so heavily modified I doubt there'll be much of use anyway - some bits and bobs maybe but nothing important (or working) enough to warrant having a broken piece of mostly crap sitting outside just in case.
