This clip doesn't show everything that happens to the donations. At the store I worked at about 60-70% of the cloths on the sale floor get discarded every week because its only allowed to be out for sale for 5 weeks, that's thousands of pieces a week and the priced do not go down the longer there are on the floor only the boutique items get reduced. The clips also does not how much of the donations never get to the sales floor. My boss had me get rid of jeans that still has the tag on them, never worn.

Many of us grew up thinking Goodwill was to help those who could not afford store bought items, would still be able to find clothes, so we could still fit in, and not being constantly wearing worn out, out of style hand-me- downs.. Or if we need to wear something more presentable at a concert. Shoes, I grew up with my toes always ending up squished entering a new school year. Many kids who's dad's were deployed to Viet Nam, did not have clothes to wear everyday. Goodwill had became Expensive to buy now. SHAME ON THEM. I seen items that were from Dollar Tree, and Dollar General, USED, and the were changing more than even the Store Prices.

Saw some holiday design plates at my local goodwill last Christmas, priced $2.99 each but still had dollar tree sticker on back of $1.25!

@@JohnPotts-kq7kk Did not know "Dollar TREE" used sticker prices, because everything is a dollar and 25. However, items now 5.00 dollars, and some even 7.00 due to that Dollar Tree, merged with Dollar General. I still go for some of their art supplies. But that extra 25 cents per item really adds up. But I grab for a number of them. Some items like color markers, by a name I do not know. are usually dried up.. But Sharpie Extra Fine I like and " Promorx "Ultra Fine, and Faber-Castell artist pen, I like. Their little caddy to put items in, small, but if you move about from room to room or outside it keeps the pens, paint brushes, led pencils, and needed eraser contained. the swivel paint brush caddy is nice too. Right Now is the time to buy due to Summer School starts in a week or two. They have nice. poster board and I try to grab some of their fold boxes to ship, or bubble secure for keeping maybe photos safer when sending. I do love their AWASOME , in Red Bottle Stain and Rug cleaner. Great if you get a stain on Clothes, better then OXYI , or if painting gets the paint speckles a few hours later . Or if one paints in Acrylic, and don't like the outcome, you can remove parts you do not like. I use facial tissue to remove grease or food from plates, or out of a greasy pan, than paper toweling. I like the calendar better than Walmart, or Target. Yes, I can down load from internet. but I like the date in a book. I am NOT a Finger User on a phone. Where I live too easy to get stolen. or lost, and then ALL is LOST. People do not want to get SHOT if they stop to help when some one is being Robed. GOODWILL in my day was to Help Mothers with children , when their husbands were drafted. and Too many DID NOT COME BACK. Goodwill is going down. And those Display for Items, sometime in Goodwill colors , IS NOT FOR AMREICA, it gets shipped outside of USA. Salvation is also over priced. It is the Small Thrift stores in a town. to visit. May have to travel a bit. but good time to use it as a place to visit a town store, garden center. or small dinner to make the tripe mean a bit more. I am covered for winter, fall and summer like weather, now. Just incase LIFE goes really downhill. Even if TRUMP won, I am sure like the last 4 years in office NOT much will get done fast. And if Democrats win, and very well could. We are in big trouble, too many non Americans, are here and need housing, food, and we have far too many USA citizens that lost their jobs. due to MALLS closing and many other businesses closing. So you take care. Try the Red bottle Awesome Stain and Carpet cleaner. Does not lighten your colors in clothing, but really helps get stains out. If you have pets, and children. and do not see the statins right away. All is not lost. May need a repeat, but will get it out.

I believe goodwill be getting some good item in but the good items be going to the employees they be picking over it. I know because my son father use to work at goodwill years ago. He use to bring the items home.

That is true of every store. Some stores don't let their employees shop until an item has been on the floor for at least a week.

What they are showing is so wrong. Most Goodwills are instructed to send everything to their area corporate location where they have “experts” , and then they list anything worth having on the Goodwill shopping website. Most of the things in the store are damaged and overpriced.

You will have death pile as they call it 😂 it will cost you great for storage and listing will take days and weeks not hours plus fees will take about 30-40 percent total, u have to pay 30 percent on income tax, and sales tax as well, every Time u got to search through hundreds of items for one item it will take time and it will suck and u will have to organize again, and then pay for tape boxes or shipping slips and spend time and gas to go to the post office. U r a fool, if u think it’s that easy my friend

The stores mixed female and male clothing on the same rack. So you must dig through girls clothes to find boys clothes. Men had a separate section, toys were with girls clothes to help mom and kids. Going to Good will is even more frustrating, i started going to THE METHODIST WOMENS STORE.

People always have bad comments to say. If you can't afford, buy there. If you can afford, buy somewhere else. I believe this store helps a lot of people. It's a thrift store, manage your expectations. Don't be too entitled.

I donated two truckloads of clothes and a lot of it was still new in boxes with tags after my dad passed.. since then we see on the news that good will people sort through and take the good stuff home for there self.. as usual this country is always a scam.. we now throw everything in the trash.

Not every goodwill allows this at my location we aren't allowed to buy clothing for 3 days after they are put on sale Even if we tried to take something thr cameras would catch us

I can understand your frustration of donating multiple items just for it to go to those who work there. Personally, im just happy someone gets to reuse what I am no longer wearing, whether an employee or customer. I hate to trash items that can be reused.

If they are doing that's stealing. Associates aren't allowed to take things home without paying for them. It has to stay on the sales floor for several days before Associates can buy anything and they can't shop in the store where they.
