Taylor, since you have a lot of experience with various cameras, how would you compare the skin tones produced by Fujifilm with those from Canon, Nikon, and others? I own a GFX100S, and I feel like there's something off with the skin tones. I often find myself spending a lot of time color-correcting and calibrating Fujifilm RAW files in Lightroom.

I didn't have any complex lighting situations (except for high dynamic range) on the day, so I didn't get to test it too much. I have been running everything through Imagen though, so usually that gets my skin tones to where I want them to be. Sorry this isn't much help!

@HarunYucesoy, Don't use Lightroom with the Fujifilm GFX 100S. Capture One is so much better with colors for this particular camera.

Outdoor shots on the GFX look stunning, love the colours in the garden. Shooting wide open on medium format looks great when your back far enough. Thanks for the AF tips.

I’ve shot the last 8 years professionally with Sony, but I’ve been wanting to pick a GFX100s up as a hobby camera, or just get my feet wet with medium format. I would put it into situations you normally wouldn’t like events, or in your case a wedding.. (I cringe at the amount of data a wedding would take up) but I would try some NCAA football, soccer, baseball (awful hit rate at full speed runs) and of course I’d experiment shooting what I normally do for work, real estate.. I like taking my Sony RX100 V and doing Small Sensor Challeges, but here we’d call, it big slow sensor challenges with the GFX.. Cheers Taylor!

So far I only did one wedding with the new gfx 100ii with the 55mm 1.7, didn’t have much problems, can definitely feel the slowing down my pace with this one, since it’s raining a lot here in Lake Como, it wasn’t a hot day, I did tried it in a different event and I was shooting under the sun and got sometimes overheating warnings, even tho I was only doing stills, so that was a bit disappointing, and it wasn’t even that hot summer day. I’m a Fuji fanboy, my second body is an xt3 that I want to retire with a new body, but it seems like there’s some controversy with the xh2s, so I will hold on a little and see what to do, I would love an xpro4 to pair with the gfx

Had the chance to shoot with the GFX 100ii in Malaysia with the weather around 33-36 celcius outdoor session in the afternoon and had no issue with overheating. It does gets hot and other than that, no problem.

I shoot Weddings with am GFX50S II and AF of the 55 is a pain, but with 45 and 110 fast enough

Shot the GFX100S II last weekend on a workshop and loved the images out of it in Acros film simulation and in "X-pan mode" and it was lovely, though I must say, I think I agree that it's not quite flexible enough to be my go to camera. I also have a GA645, which I loved - amazing lens and so so simple to use.... also died like yours. Am very sad. I got a mechanical Fuji 645 as a replacement, which should be more future proof, but the AF and autowind and auto exposure on the GA645 was the bomb.

Hah in other news, my ga645 has come back to life. We cleaned the battery contacts even though they looked totally fine, and it booted back up. I don’t know how long it will last. I have the big Texas Leica now as well but I don’t love the lens as much as the 645

Agree about everything pretty much but would definitely use the way faster (in terms of AF) GF45mm F2.8 for some of the shots. It's really unfortunate Fujifilm didn't add linear motors to the GF55mm F1.7. Also, the GF110mm F2 has much faster AF than the 80. I do however also prefer the 80 myself because of the F1.7, smaller size and wider, more versatile focal length.

So on the GFX series highest dynamic range is at ISO 80? Interesting! In the X series usually its about 640, with whatever tricks they pull factored it. Usually works great. And if its a tricky scene like that DR-Priority high saves even more latitude.

Why does ANYONE need a 100MP camera at a Wedding? Please explain; as the video did not.

I personally don’t need more than 24MP, but I know a lot people prefer higher megapixel cameras

@@tkarlmanncropping in when using a shorter prime, saves changing lenses plus allows more room for different aspect ratio crops whilst still maintaining a high level of detail.

It's not just the megapixels, it's also the dynamic range and flexibility of the files with a camera like that. Don't forget the lenses, while slower than other systems, are also designed to capture every ounce of detail possible. This combo of incredible files with lenses this good gives the photographer files that are stunning to work with. Creating multiple compositions out of one wider frame is wildly powerful too (especially when creating high-end photo books for clients). BUT - of course we lose out on speed, weight, and file size... for most wedding photographers I would imagine GFX isn't worth it.

Nobody NEEDS a lot of things we have on modern camera. It's just an option.
