It is genuinely rare to find characters who are able to bring farming to life. You have found a way to innovate a tradition going back to Jack Hargreaves, and more recently Oliver Walston RIP. These wonderful videos are funny, self-effacing, and fascinating. Almost like a soap opera, with cast of engaging characters. (And a tiny hint of The Office!) Hats off to everyone involved.

Hi James I only watched PX farms to see the new Volvos and I haven’t missed an episode since ! I think you have one of the most informative farming KZbin channels and you are so passionate about the country side and all things farming ! The relationship you have with your employees is a great example of how to manage people properly and have a bit of fun along the way ! Keep up the good work 👍

Absolutely riveting stuff, I,ll be telling anybody who listens. If you do nothing else watch James Peck if you seriously want to learn more about Agriculture, the enthusiasm, the drive, the attention to detail, I could on , and I,ve recently realised your related to Andrew Ward !! If We had people like You and Andrew shaping Government policy We could transform things. Your videos are meant to be serious obviously but I love the humour as well. Please keep going for the sake of farmers everywhere!!

Morning James. I would Like to say you are doing a true service to agriculture in every area. Your presenting skills are getting better and better on your channel. I’m farmer born and breed 25 plus years before getting out. I’m local to you so know the area and the black grass issues you face. I got out and into another industry. But watching your professional manner and detail to quality just makes me miss it immensely. Ag has needed to go less ag and more professional for a long time. Utilising the tools available and embracing farming into the quality industry that it is. My question is, are you, and if you are ,what would be your next diversification direction. For example composting or AD plant or would you go a different route. Many thanks James keep up the good work. Also thank you team as you are only ever as good as they are. Regards Dean.

Watching this episode and the equipment you were chatting about with Horsch, brought home to me just how far agriculture has come in the past 60 years. I remember as a very young child sat watching my Dad ploughing with his brand new Nuffield 1060 tractor with a corn sack over his shoulders as it was raining and the rusty disk harrows he used which were about 6 feet wide or the old chain harrow which he tried to keep together with bits of wire. He was always followed by huge flocks of birds, often lapwings. If my Dad or grandfather were to come back today, they would be amazed how things have progessed in such a short time. I love the channel James, thanks for sharing.

I love watching this channel, takes me back to my happy place & some wonderful childhood memories. I was raised on a Suffolk farm of 120 acres in the 1950s/60s with cattle, pigs, chickens, wheat, barley, potatoes, sugar beet. Barley fed cattle. Crop rotation, fields spread with manure from the over-winter cattle yard, clover for nitrogen, layering of hedges. Free-range children! Unfortunately, this idyll finished when Dad died aged 49.

It was nice to see the chat with Michael Horsch. Cool guy with some great insights. I met him in Essex back in 1985 when I was involved trialling a machine they had come up with, a 4m rotavator sort of machine that threw all the straw and top bit of soil up in the air and deposited the seed on the clean ground before the soil followed by the straw landed back down. I recall he jumped on my numb old Case 2670 we were using, I think frustrated by how I was managing the transition to field mode. 1985 last year of straw burning. Not sure how the crops turned out or what happened to the idea as I left farming but great to see the success Horsch have had.

James, mother bins are a game changer for productivity. A good friend uses one in New Zealand that he made himself. Lorries can start carting earlier, and never have to wait. This year Ukraine has shipped out 8.6 million tons of grain and beans, this is despite Russia's missile attack on a civilian ship carrying wheat bound to Egypt. Therefore I found it quite remarkable how matter of fact the French farmer described how he farms in Ukraine. Stoicism is not just with British farmers it’s world wide. Hi James, I imagine your 100 ton mother bin idea would most definitely help to keep the combines working as it can bridge the time gaps for the trucks hauling the crops back to the storage shed, also in the longterm cheaper & more efficient than using grain bags & the extra equipment & manpower needed with that type of operation.

I’ve been re listening to your conversation with Micheal Horsch, you were discussing the large farm model and one of the benefits of this being providing employment. I agree somewhat with this but I also find that the larger the farm sometimes the more poorly the staff are actually treated. For an example the contract farming company I am helping with harvest, no meals are ever provided, they charge the students for the accommodation. There’s never any things done to improve moral etc. Whereas I’ve worked for some smaller farms and they appreciate the worker far more. Just a thought. Thanks.

I now live in canada but 25 or so years ago, I used to go to Lommatzsch in the saxony district of germany to pick up horsch machines back then , it was still good old fashioned engineering by the people of the old east Germany. I love your content as used to be on a farm in norfolk till we emigrated to saskatchewan the canadian grain belt. Its odd here , the fields are measured in 1/4 sections 160 acres and crops are by bushell not tonnes or lbs . Keep up the good work 👏 🙌

Hi James. Great video a good insite into the Horsch setup and the family progression. I found the French farmer interesting that he farms in the Ukraine on a such a large scale and in the middle of a war brave man indeed. My question for the Cap would be because you spend such a large amount £££ on you combines could Class not incorporate an on board 200cfm Compressor for the blow down ? it would save you time and the problem of dealing with the hire company's ie red to white diesel change over. As a retired engineer I belive this to be achievable and would add a great feature. Any way keep the great videos. Regards Richard

Superb insight on what happens in Europe with regards to Agriculture especially the labour being employed in the Horsch factory from small farms and the rest of Europe appreciating what they still had as the UK left losing all its membership benefits . An observation I made over the years is that UK farmers are not good at training up staff from a young age eg apprenticeships for combine/tractor drivers instead of relying on others with small farms with tractors to do it for them with spare family labour. Big local unit here has one huge combine with 70 year old driver no one being trained up to replace them

Interesting that farming has come full circle, I remember my father had to change over from horses to Fordson Tractors and everything was dragged behind the tractor, it seams to have gone back to that way of working the land. But of course with the Class Tractor being on demonstration, rather larger machine than the old standard Fordson Tractor with the spring seat. I always used to say machines today are getting that large once around the field they would be done.

Good morning James Really interesting video with Micheal Horsch the growth of the company is really interesting as was his comments on the future. I was at an event with Theo Leeb in July and he had similar views on the future I would say somewhat cautious. After your chat with the French farmer would you consider farming abroad if land became unavailable in your area? And where do you see the future of a skilled machine operator in our industry? Good luck with your drilling campaign we are still trying to finish harvest here in the south west!!! Regards Chris
