I see Izoptope as a full stop DAW at some point. I have no idea why they haven't released a full DAW that would blow away Protools. Hint: Use nodes like NUKE does.

Mitch & Shahan are not just in it for the monetisation. Clearly passionate. Love Streetwater straight in & on it reviews & Izotope 9 though... yes... so soon after 8... is a massive leap forward. Bringing back trust into the gear we use & finally since DAW's came into all our lives & homes I feel we're all getting near AAA results after years of false claims & hype. We all know what an acoustic guitar needs to sound like in a mix or on a song because we've heard so many great songs & masters so taking the battle out of getting quicker to a result fills my heart with joy. I'm crying out to developers for a day when we just open the DAW, play in a song idea & the Drums load on auto loaded tracks with a Bass Guitar to suit the genre & tempo & play back with you like having a few mates jamming along. A bit like the Apple Music Memos app or Digitech's Trio pedal but, in the DAW, yes in the DAW. No more pencil tools & microscopic midi lines to draw as that awful standard keyboard sound you forgot to change goes up & down notes & scales or the robotic metronome begins & blows any musical creativity out the window lol but, rather add, adjust & fine tune after a performance with option pop ups after you've recorded something in whatever timing you've played & to quantise to a few tempo choices after a take or repeat verses & chorus's, put little auto fades on takes without doing it to stop clicks & pops, choose Album Drumming like Abbey Road based on that style or a Double Bass off Astral Weeks & plug ins either modern or vintage onto a mix to toggle between before making ideas into a song & adding as I like to call it OZ9 once up & running to get the juices flowing x

I love iZotope products and use them. As a programmer myself I hate buzzwords like A.I. and Machine Learning, Algorithms, and Bleeding Edge. It's language like this that turns some people away from adopting great digital products. I want a product where buzzwords don't matter as it is such a great step forward in making music.

Machine learning isn't MERELY a buzzword it's a real set of (perhaps over hyped) technologies. You are a programmer but you think it's just a buzzword? Weak AI (also called Machine Learning) is a real thing. Strong AI is a pipe dream (or buzzword if you like). Pattern recognition engines are a huge part of where audio processing systems are going, for sure. That's what he's trying to explain.

jppagetoo I love this comment. I hate the terms too. It’s clever computer code and software engineering. Not artificial intelligence or a machine that can learn. Izotope makes the best background noise remover and dereverb plug-ins.

The bleeding edge, to me, has always meant pressing the boundaries of what current technology will allow, and the "blood" is the frustration of creating workarounds, when two years later everybody is doing the same thing with easy tools (like AJAX, as an example). I haven't seen it used to boast about new technologies as much as to relate the pain it is to create them in a primitive environment.

As a programmer you should comprehend the difference between a normal algorithm and a ML neural network, which is indeed something like AI! These are no buzzwords at all, there are and will be more things a normal algorithm or human couldn’t do in sensible time. Like painting ai or text ai. Look up the new bing! from MS where they integrated ai and then compare search results with google…. The disassembling of a song into its instruments was theoretically possible, but practically it wasn’t till now.
