@mattdrewdrums well there's both of the last two spring games and there's the reports coming out of fall camp and there's the reports of the Rose Bowl closed session practices of some phenomenal reads and throws that he made........you don't follow the program much? You just come on here to spread unfounded assumptions?

@@DubLubb Davis Warren has looked like the best passer in the spring games. Also, camp intel has said that Tuttle has passed the ball significantly better than Orji (and I think Tuttle is mid af, at best). Orji could barely hit a ball past 10 yards in the last spring game. So, idk wtf you're talking about bud lol
@mattdrewdrums
@mattdrewdrums 28 күн бұрын
@@5STARGAV That's more wishful thinking than anything because Milroe has always had a great deep ball, and we have no idea about Orji. If anything, Orjis intermediate to deep balls have looked pretty trash tbh. Also, Milroe is faster and was a pretty highly rated recruit out of highschool. So, Orji has a lot to prove to even be compared to a guy like Milroe.

I'm very encouraged by his ongoing development into a complete QB. His physical attributes are off the chart. His mind is razor sharp. His arm is strong. We saw him throw a tight, hard, sideline route in the spring game that showed that he can do it. He'll do a lot more than that with the talent and scheme he'll be working with. I love that he's stepped up and has embraced his role as a physical freak and on-field leader. The room is deep but Alex is the one with the highest ceiling this year. Go Blue.

that will be one of he most interesting things to watch. There are bound to be some growing pains. Can Michigan's staff have greater resolve through them than Bama did with Milroe. The Tide were lucky that dude is one of the most mentally tough players they've ever had. He could have easily checked out after they benched him for a dude Rees brought with him from South Bend who couldn't be the guy there and wound up quitting football to play lacrosse.

Lamar Jackson was a three star recruit wasn't he? Did Ohio State win a Natty in '15 with a big-bodied 3rd stringer? I'd rather have this kid than Arch Manning going into this schedule because pocket statues are easier to stop in the college game. Look what happened to Michael Penix in the Natty. We don't have Blake this year and if the Oline takes time to gel we don't have the early half pancake schedule this year. Alex is by far the best chance to make the playoff THIS year. Read option will be VERY difficult to stop.

@@DubLubb Bringing up fringe anecdotes is not exactly a convincing argument lol. Are you gonna also tell me about how smoking is safe because your grandpa smoked for 80 years and lived until 100? I think all of our QBs will have growing pains, so we might as well go with the one that shows the most promise THROUGH THE AIR. Orji does not need to start. He can be effectively utilized as a package QB. I just think committing to a guy like Orji, who has proven almost nothing through the air, would be silly. We already have great RBs, we'll have a good o-line most likely, and our WR room is underrated with all of their speed and quickness. It's better to throw our marbles into a true QB, not a damn Denard Robinson. Orji can still be used as a backup, whereas none of the other QBs can be.
@mattdrewdrums
@mattdrewdrums 27 күн бұрын
@@DubLubb It's also not just because Orji is a 3 star. It's because he threw for 50% in high school, which is putrid. He was also mostly being recruited by serious programs as an athlete. Harbaugh also wanted him to return kickoffs (which no coach would EVER do with a potential future starting QB). He also could barely complete a pass over 10 yards in the spring game.
@DubLubb
@DubLubb 27 күн бұрын
@mattdrewdrums Orji was a 4 star but you are a joke.....Heisman trophies and Nattys are "fringe" anecdotes? Let's talk about anomalies then buddy. Tom Brady is the outlier, the statistical anomaly. A guy with his level of mobility and his level of achievement isn't gonna happen again.....ever. This is what we are arguing here. For every Tom Brady there are a hundred John Navarres, Wilton Speights and Chad Hennes, and a handful of Matt Leinerts who get a Natty and fizzle at the next level. Meanwhile there are the Cam Newtons, Vince Youngs, Cardale Jones's, Tommy Fraziers, Tim Tebows, Scott Frosts, Lamar Jacksons, RG3s of the world winning Heismans and Nattys galore. Even some of the Canton guys like Elway and Steve Young could scoot. Harbaugh himself was a 4.6 40 guy. But Michigan plays in the NCAA not the NFL. Michigan needs to continue a run of success in the NCAA. You stick that surfer dude under center against Texas and Orji will bring the team back from the deficit we find ourselves in after blondie breaks a collar bone looking for a deep ball option that never materializes.
@mattdrewdrums
@mattdrewdrums 27 күн бұрын
@DubLubb He was a 3 star on 247, which is the leading source for recruiting rankings. You just nitpick his highest ranking and claim that's the "real" one lol. Also, why are you calling Warren a "surfer dude?" That indicates you are irrationally against him. Can you imagine if I said Orji, that "ghetto dude" is not a good passer, how would you react? That's racist af lol. I've only substantively critiqued Orji. But, what do you know? You're the first one to actually insult the guy you don't like lol, which is telling. I still think Orji should be used as a package QB, but I don't think he has the passing abilities to be a full-on starter. And, no, not because he's black you f***ing m○r●n lol. Bryce Underwood sh*ts on all these QBs, and I would've LOVED to have him here to be our starter. But, of course, UofM can't play the NIL game...
