As the son of a single mother who had unbelievable strength. As a brother to a sister, a man fortunate enough to have a wonderful wife, and as the incredibly proud dad of an amazing, strong, brilliant and beautiful daughter, I think it's fair to say I am a feminist. If not by choice, then at least by circumstance. And when I think of a Donald Trump presidency and what it means for my family and for women, girls, and decent humans everywhere, I can hardly stand the thought. When I say Trump makes me sick, I literally mean the sight and sound of him causes nausea in the pit of my stomach. Because there is no policy position he could take, even if he might occasionally get something right, that can make up for who and what he really is. My grandfather- 6'4", played football for the Steelers in leather helmet days, manufacturing white collar who went to strikes with a baseball bat in his hand, vacuumed the house every weekend, grew peach trees, gardens, and helped gran can food every fall, grew award winning roses, won Bass Masters tournaments, could repair anything, did the dishes every evening, walked and rocked babies to sleep like a pro in those big arms. This is the only time in my lifetime that I've seen so much attention placed on the VP pick. Even when Harris made history as VP it was not like this. It's really fascinating to me that a guy like Walz would be the person to inspire this kind of attention, but I'm happy to see it. The man who I personally knew and admired the most was a guy I worked with who openly loved his wife and daughter, loved his friends and amateur baseball team members, was loyal to his friends and neighbors and kind and thoughtful toward his fellow employees. He was honest and open and was very masculine without any phony machismo. He stood up for those who got picked on. He was one of the most well balanced men I've ever known. Meanwhile, he got fired for not paying attention to work and when he goes to a new place to look for work he got denied because protective order shows up on his background check. Now he has no money, no place to live, no job, his neighbors and friends started seeing him as abuser and he is alieniated from the children. Somehow he still managed to fight a criminal domestic violence case with help of public defendant lawyer and after a year he had to settle. His life ends. The generational wealth that his parents transferred to him also goes to his x spouse and he has not seen his children for almost two years.
