To avoid getting sanctioned by the US if we buy too many Russian weapons. There is nothing inherently special about Israeli weapons, especially when Russian weapons would do as well. India already has a ready supply chain and production facilities for a lot of Russian weapon and parts, so any new purchase would even end up being more economical in the long term. Since Western (and Israeli) defence companies don't want to compete fairly, they resort to threats of sanctions.

I'm sorry that modern nations prefer war to natural and accepted law that prescribe to have good relations with neighbors and strangers. Indians that are Hindu don't eat meat, Jews don't eat pork yet they eat beef and other meats. India regard the cow as sacred. I can't see how they could eat in the same restaurant unless they leave their religious beliefs behind. India had to let Pakistan be apart from India as war was caught between Muslims and Hindus. After 1992 our relations took off and the aid during the 1999 war when India faced sanctions from the US and other countries because of the 1998 Pokhran nuclear test, was something else. Israel was pressured by the US into delaying the supply and had arms shortages but nevertheless, supplied the ammunition and weapons on time and after that also gave us laser guided bombs. Israeli director general in the Israeli defence ministry said ‘Tell us what you need and whatever we can supply, we are ready to supply. We can negotiate prices and other things later.’ Kargil solidified our ties with Israel.

These are some common ones: jews temporarily abandoned swastika and both hindus use swastika in our temples and homes from time immemorial. Swastika was found on Jewish temple from a very long time as per Rabbies. We both celebrate festival of lights and festival of colors. Especially Purim and Holi 1-3 days apart and the festival of light 1-2 months apart each year. Majority of Hindus follow lunisolar calendar and Jews follow Lunar calendar. There are some more but let me share one small ones too. Jewish names like Anita / Aneta, Maya, Ameet / Harry all have similar corresponding Indian named too Anita / Anitha, Maya( meaning illusion or magic), Amith / Amit, Hari pronounced differently though but changes can happen in a name and practices in a thousand or more years of persecution/ loot Etc. There are lakhs of priestly people in India as well just like Israel. We also dance with our rath just like you dance with the holy torah procession...We use Tantra as a way of worship especially the yogis and when a temple is supposed to be built and you call it sacred geometry and meditate on it too. We believe in one god just like the jews, just like Moses was given commandments, our ancestors have been worshipping idols of different gods who manifested as incarnations of god or as a spiritual essence as spiritual gurus. We just dont worship only idols we honour and pray to everything of gods creation like animals, weapons or cars and vehicles on Vijaya dashami. We look at oneness in everything and worship everything of gods creation. Although the complete oneness practices have been lost in history after invasions, conversions from Dutch, Portuguese, french, British and Mughals.

Don't forget the longest 'serving' prime minister Nehru. He would have supported Palestine even after the continued backstabbing from their side. I would also like to add the historical reasons: During the exodus of Jews, India was one of the nation that accepted them wholeheartedly. India is among one of the few places where there were no Antisemitism. Jews were able to live and prosper and practice their religion in peace. Even today we have Jewish synagogues in Souther states of India. And even after the formation of Israel some of them stayed back in India and they still live here in harmony and peace. And I have heard many Israel people calling India home of their ancestors. So i think these sentiments too play a major role. ❤️

We are the same people lost in history....no one has researched why do we have Swastika as common symbol both in our temples and culture. Yes, ISRO's lunar mission ( you may know it as Chandrayaan-3 was entirely handled by a senior woman scientist, she was the team lead and responsible for the mission, the women participation in STEM is still not at desirable standards but thigs are changing rapidly. The spacy agency has many more missions in the pipeline, so we may see drastic shift in women's participation in the coming years. Well said. But the problem is, Israeli elites and its politicians don't want a two-state solution despite how it could bring peace. A constant state of war is profitable to not only divert attention away from internal issues and gain American military aid but also gives them the chance to make their weapons more lucrative by making them combat proven. Not to mention Right wingers like Itamar Ben-Gvir want hostilities and are using it to facilitate US arms sales to its civilians.
