Hi Brian, another great interview, thank you. I'd not heard of Melanie Whelan, or SoulCycle for that matter but still gained some great business advice from the conversation. I'm just starting out with my business and am starting with nothing. By not giving up I've lost everything, my home, my girlfriend and an income. Two years down the line I'm in debt (not much thankfully) and am only now, just starting to see things turn around. I've had to adapt, change my business, create new products and listen carefully to advice from both customers and local business owners. Have you ever created content that offers advice for people starting with nothing? Like, absolutely nothing? I have no investments or savings, I went through a separation and lost everything. I'm just thankful I made it through those tough times but the outcome is I'm still not financially secure. Any videos or advice you can point me to would be most welcome. I really enjoy all your content but sometimes I find it hard to relate to others who seem to have had, let's say, an easier life or better start. No winging here though, I'd just like to find content I can relate to a little more.

Appreciate the comments and kind words. As for other channels or content for those starting from scratch, I like what my friend Gary Vaynerchuk is putting out. You can also watch Chase Jarvis. They are both solo-preneurs who have build big biz.

Thank you, I've not heard of Chase before so I'll definitely check his channel out. And thank you for all your amazing content, you ask all the right questions, much appreciated!

Chaat Man you can actually monetize what you lost by writing e books telling people what not to do and sell them. Embrace your losses because they are valuable lessons to you and everyone out there. Monetize your pain.

She really didn't build the brand, did she? It was more of the cofounders who built it from ground up... shouldn't this interview with the two cofounders not a CEO who took over the role after the brand was already sort of built...?

going from a handful of locations to dozens probably had a bit to do with her.

I don't really see how this is about the brand or the story behind the brand. They discussed company culture and she spouted off the brand messaging. Who is their target persona, how did they find them, how did they iterate on it, etc. etc. etc.

The interviewer needs training in interviewing. He asked several multi-barreled questions (multiple questions in one question), leading questions, and questions that he would answer.

Ha! Yes...I can always use more training. And the way to get more interview training is to do more interviews i guess.
