UFC 1 is crazy. People with shoes on, head kicks to downed opponents, etc. It truly was something. People now would say it's "boring", but for what it was originally intended to be: a test of who had the most effective martial art, it did what it was supposed to do. And BJJ won, and it's the reason why no matter your "style" in MMA now, everyone trains at least some BJJ just in case it goes to the ground. I know the sambo guys would argue differently, but for now, it's BJJ. Even strikers also train some BJJ because without it they may not even get to use their striking.
