Based on what you said it sure sounds difficult planning out a wedding and how disastrous things can be when something goes wrong but at least it worked out in the end and I'm glad your wedding party turned out so well. I'm so excited about your story of the wedding and the wedding videos I just can't hide it. Although all of my siblings got married and had kids, God decided that someone needed to take care of my mother . . . me. I have no regrets about it; no resentment that my siblings weren't involved more. And at the same time, I helped out my aunt Trudy as well, my mom's last surviving sibling. We often ate dinner together, celebrated holidays together, I took them shopping and out to the airport to watch the planes. When I got home at night, after 11 pm, I would wake my mother up so we could watch our taped episodes of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. (For my mother's 85th birthday, I even got her an autographed photo - which actually arrived on her birthday - of Vanna White and Pat Sajak.) She loved it. I took over the laundry, cooking, house cleaning, etc. There were good days and bad days, but when she passed away, I could honestly say I had no regrets. I rejoiced that she was finally home and reunited with my dad (who passed away back in 1986, at the age of 53.) My aunt Trudy passed away 2 months later (I found her collapsed on her bathroom floor). She was lonely and missed her family, even though I continued to check on her twice a week. What rejoicing we had that both she and my mother had been reunited with their siblings and parents for Christmas that year. I'm sure their celebration was much better than ours had ever been.
