Behringer Deepmind 12 sequencer tutorial. In this video I go over how to use the control sequencer which is a modulation sequencer that you can assign to any parameter in the mod matrix. I like to think of it as a fancy LFO. In fact you can replicate some common LFO shapes with it and use it as a 3rd LFO as well.

I have a thing for sounds,generated or real.had the Korg Wavestate for a year,and I never scratched the surface with it.I sold it with regrets.I checked out KZbin and saw this gentleman,going through every detail for the beginner,right through to the Pro.so naturally I had to get the Behringer Deepmind 12..I cant and have never played a Piano,but love the sound of them,but Synthesisers are a different level.so much to learn,but so so much more to give.Im going for Piano lessons.once I know the basics,it'll be a case of getting to know this beast.once upon a synth,I salute you sir.

dooblr I used a behringer Ultrafex Pro for years and that was amazing sound & quality. I also had a cheap behringer mixer that was average, but fit for purpose. But it comes down to price. This DM12 looks like terrific value.

hey just wondering, is there a MIDI (CC) destination in the mod matrix? Is there a way to send (by MIDI out) the current value of the control sequencer as a single CC? I know the values of individual steps can be controlled but that is not what I'm looking for. Ideally I'd like to channel the sequencer to an external midi CC to CV module.

It just looks sooo complicated. Must be a lot easier to hook it up via midi to an external sequencer with simple note on note off data, and after all that's all that a lot of people want...

I rarely use my keystep on my deepmind, the arpeggiator is good enough for me. I do sync my keystep to the deepmind via midi so I can be precise with the BPM using multiple synths.

Do you know if it's possible to set value of individual steps by pressing any key on keyboard? It seems stupid for a polysynth to not have a proper "record sequence" function, since softwae is already there, it's just a mater of programming it. I'd gladly sacrifice the all chord function for it.

It is possible to use the control sequencer to change the oscillator pitch, and to create a melodic sequence. It's not a particularly quick method, but it works. As a test, I programmed the sequencer to play the riff from Tubular Bells.

I guess Behringer decided they didn't want to cannibalise their effects box sales by making this beast too useful. I remember reading that one of the synth modders was trying to figure out a patch-in mod, but I can't find anything that says they managed it.

I just purchased a new Deepmind 12 and I was wondering if I will be needing to purchase any extra wires and cables to get it fully operational when I receive it. I already have a DAW (FL Studio) and an audio interface (Focusrite Scarlet 2i4) and I have studio monitors (Yamaha HS8s). What cables will I need to get, if any, to start using my Deepmind 12 right away when it arrives next Tuesday?
@PeeJaySpear

also, if i want to use my DAW as a sequencer for my deepmind, will i need any additional cables for that??
@onceuponasynth
@onceuponasynth 6 жыл бұрын
The very basics will be an instrument cable (1/4") to connect it to your interface (ideally 2 for stereo). That should be enough to start recording. If you want to connect via MIDI then either a USB cable or MIDI cable. I can't remember if it ships with a USB cable or not.

Oh for a synth with a sequencer where I just play in real time what I want and it gently quantises it and that's it. I can then play it back, overdub, edit it or just play another pitch live over it.

I have a Moog Source from the early 1980's that records the sequence in real time. Of course it's only monophonic, but during playback, hitting a key instantly transposes the sequence to that key.

Is there a way to trigger the sequencer's steps using an external clock or the CV? My intention is to run a few notes when triggered by a Roland TR-8S. I want the designated 'instrument track' on the TR-8S to advance the deepmind's sequence one step at a time every time there is a step on the TR for the given track.

Did you have any luck doing this, I’ve not attempted it myself yet, but came here hoping to find an answer to that question too. I’ve been triggering my 101 from the RD-8 but I’m guessing the sequencer is a different kind since it’s a ‘control’ sequencer... I’m a bit confused by the Deepmind 12 and if you can save a 16-32 step sequence?, difficult to find answers

@onceuponasynth
@onceuponasynth 7 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you're asking specifically but most synths with MIDI ports can sync their clocks. So if you want to make sure the synths all play with locked timing then that should be possible with all 3. If you're asking about sequencers then the DM12 doesn't have a traditional note sequencer like the JDXI or Rev2 do.

It's not a sequencer . The normal sense ,it's more of a lfo that you can edit very deeply.
