After comments about the menu system and wether it makes making sounds difficult, I thought I'd make one from scratch.

Love the shortcuts for selecting modulation sources. In this example, you still have two envelopes available for modulating the noise level for example, plus lots of other sources to play with for making new expressive sounds. Blows the original Juno series away really, and so much cheaper. My local music shop was selling the Juno 6 for £799 in the 80s. That was a lot of coin in today's money. Very impressed by this instrument.

Really appreciate it, to see you do a patch from scratch. I've been very temptated to buy the deepmind12 from the start when the audio-examples where coming up. But I've been feeling put off by the menu-diving and general learning curve by it all. But I guess I'm getting it now. Sounds fantastic.

great video..... I loved it when you just played the resonance on the filter, I never actually knew that could be done. I'd use that patch at a breakdown with masses of reverb and stereo delay. I'd then want a repeated sequence with that patch that i could just improvise over for hours. I've not had a good day today but this video has somewhat brightened it up slightly thank you.
@slipknotboy555

That patch sounded great, Nick, and thanks for the extra video (and thanks to everyone behind the scenes)! I think Behringer hit it outta the park with the Deepmind, looks awesome. I don't really understand the aversion to the edit pages, either. They don't seem hard to use, and it's not like one needs to go deep into them to get to the desired parameter. And if Behringer only included parameters they could fit on the front panel, the Deepmind would have much fewer features, and be less flexible and versatile. Would those people really want that? Just so there's no edit pages? I appreciate those extra features. And I think it sounds good! - Especially with the multiple unison modes with detune (right on the front panel!). That filter is definitely nice, too. Sorry for the long comment, heh. If anyone reads this, thanks to Nick and everyone else who make these videos happen. Fantastic content.

Myself and others were wrong about Behringer. They aren't perfect but here's the thing... None of the other synth companies are perfect. None. I really like my DM6. The way it sits there and doesn't take up much room but has so much sound potential! It's hefty. Its sound design capabilities are quick. The FX are powerful. And yet, there are still people that never owned one and feel capable of judging it harshly. Seriously. People judge Behringer synths much harsher than the others. Behringer could have proved them right had they taken the easy route. But they did not. They came into the scene as music muckrakers but they asked synth heads what they wanted, how they wanted it, and provided it without being greedy. People should be rooting for Behringer. They exposed just how ridiculous the prices of synths can be and we might not have questioned prices accurately. Sure, not every company has Behringer's manufacturing resources but some do! These are the companies that needed a good kick in the pants and Behringer obliged. Now it's time for these others to evolve or Behringer will leave them in the dust. Thanks Uli, Midas, and the entire Music Tribe group. Their sincerity is now obvious and i'm excited to see what they will do next.

Hello, I've been studying this synth for a while now and seriously interested in getting one, only question I have that no one can answer yet is if I can do microtuning on it? I am a guitar player and I am interested in learning how to play synth. My question is which synth (good quality, reasonably priced) would be good for someone in my situation? I love the Jupiter 8 sounds and I'm looking for something that produces those nice analog sounds. Currently, I'm considering the following: (1) Deepmind 12 (2) Roland System 8 or (3) purchasing the three Roland JP-08, JU-06 and JX-03 with an Arturia Keystep. Out of those 3, which would be my best choice? What are the pros and cons of each?

Hi! I need help.. i tried to do a patch from scratch, using nothing but the resonance and the frequency from the filter at the beginning. Just like in this video. But it seems like the pitch of the filter is moving up and down (in dissonance.) Each time i press a key on my keyboard the tone of the filter is different. It doesn't KYBD-slider is all the way up. In this video i think the tone of each key is always the same. Is my the filter of my deepmind broken or something? I thougt that maybe some detuning on the Keyboard would be the reason for this, but the pitch of my filter is shifting even when i'm using my Laptop as MidiController, too. Please help.. Greetings!

@TheJonHolstein
@TheJonHolstein 7 жыл бұрын
Nick said it wasn't bad. But this is not the final version, so he didn't know if it was the final units keyboard. But people have different preferences when it comes to keys. And this keyboard is kind of limited in range. Get yourself a good keyboard, at a good size for you. Hopefully you can find one that has some usefull real-time controls (faders and encoders that are not endless should almost be overlooked, as they can be hopless to use when playing, if they are in the wrong place when you call up a patch, but if the keyboard comes with other interesting controls, it can have those as well). Make sure it has Midi ports, and not only USB. (both is best, and USB host as well would be even better, but the most important thing is standard Midi-ports) Then you will have great keys to play no matter what synths you get. It's mostly a good investment, if you find keys you really like, they will probably feel more right to you than most of what hardware synths come with.
