My 2cents: With the Edge, Behringer has brought a solid drum synthesizer onto the market that invites experimentation but also covers standards without any problems. Even if the basic sound is a bit more HiFi and rich in overtones, the Edge is still perfectly suited for dark industrial techno tracks or more complex IDM and ambient percussion. As there are conceptionally a lot of parallels: In direct comparison with a DFAM, the Edge doesn't sound quite as organic, mainly due to the Moog DFAM's oscillators and filter. And that's a good thing, because both drum synths complement each other perfectly in terms of sound. At this price, you definitely can't go wrong here. ▶ Purchase Link* Behringer Edge (EU / Thomann): www.thomann.de/intl/behringer_edge.htm?offid=1&affid=397 ▶ Purchase Link* Behringer Edge (Sweetwater): sweetwater.sjv.io/6ea6NG

behringer will have nailed the techno set for a whole new generation if they release this bad boy im thinking Edge+RD9+TD03MO and you can endlessly jam quality techno on a low budget coming from a time when the 303 and 909 were financialy out of reach for most plus the grind of the budget dfam is the utimate in techno accessability for all they just need to release the edge oh and the syncussion clone and there is already some great clones of that

Yes! I’ve been waiting to check one of these out.

Yeah that’s muy raro indeed. Que demo fantástico. Gracias!

what are the advantages/ disadvantages of using a physical (analog?) reverb unit rather than routing it through software?
@limbicbitsАй бұрын
- Standalone operation if you don't like to work with computers/DAWs in general or not want to carry one around when touring or performing live - Direct access to parameters which for me it's more fun to experiment - Maybe most important for my videos: Viewers can actually see when the reverb is active - (especially on older units) AD/DA converters, internal sample rate - (sometimes) CV in

what do you think of this compaired to the dfam and have you used both?
@DaveDaves Жыл бұрын
I have used neither but many similar. I think buyers expecting a drum machine (even the TR-606/TD-6 have only four parts and can do a complete basic kit, TR-6s, Volca Beats/Drum too) will be quite dissapointed by 1) needing to understand analog subtractive synthesis and 2) not being able to do more than 1 part but on the flipside those who have been needing this all along have been only able to get it via more expensive, not-compact, awkward combinations of like the Arturia BeatStep and a Analog Synth like the Behringer Crave. In Hip-hop the TR-808-esque pitched combination kick drum / bass part thing is still really in- thats probably easier to do on a Volca Kick, and if thats all you want the better tool for just that but a lot of folks are gonna master analog synthessis by exploring the F outta this thing and that knowledge will transfer to the DFAM or any other subtractive they use.

go for the edge my friend, ignore the overpriced and overatted moog stuff. Edge works great, many of vids prooving it.

Funny how i can't replicate any of those. Ok just quickly set them to what i see on the screen, sounds quite different.

Set the video to 4k and try to copy the settings accurately. That should give you a good starting point. Make also sure that the switches are in the right positions.

But you can buy three of these for the cost of a dfam.
