I have had my X2442 for a little over a year and periodically the Send 1 and 2 have issues. I use those sends to feed two Harbinger powered speakers as stage monitors. One gig they work perfectly, the next they sound like crap. It has already been in to warranty repair on Send 2. Im testing it out tonight with a friend who's a sound engineer. Hopefully its something Im doing and we can fix it. I have the X1222 and never had any issues with it. If this continues, I may look at replacing it with the Mackie.
@SonicOrbStudios4 жыл бұрын
sounds like it's hardware failure, typical as behringer uses cheap components

@@SonicOrbStudios I've been using a TRS to XLR adapter to run XLR to my monitors, I am testing out using direct TRS 1/4" cables tonight. This issue is only affecting the Monitors coming from send 1 and send 2. I don't have the same issues with the mains.

Probably so, often times the capacitors in the power supply go bad

I have a eurorack ub2442 fx behringer mixer all the all of a sudden the lights don't turn on only the bar on the right of the main mix turns on... The sound goes through it fine it just won't let me control the volumes.... Do you know what could be the cause of the problem

I never did send this product into repair, too costly and they wanted me to cover shipping both ways from NJ to CA... Behringer products either work great or fail early, the quality control is just off the charts. Get yourself a good Mackie mixer or Yamaha, I've never had an issue with either of the two in the past years I've run them.

Possibly bad faders shorting out, try cleaner and lubricant first, otherwise have someone check the electrics for proper operation

Yesterday, in the middle of a gig, my Behringer Q1202 suddenly started making heavy noise. Even with the main outs. I cleaned it with contact spray but that didn't seem to work. The gig was a complete disaster thanks to this. Thanks Behringer but never again. Never.

Correction: even with the main outs at zero...

for any sort of public gig, I'd go quality brand name. Behringer is ok for home practice but has never held up over time. Mackie or Presonus Studio Live boards are solid.

That sucks, particularly at those kind of replacement costs. I'd open it up and start looking around for something strange: loose wire or connection, cold solder joints, etc. And look in things that are common to the whole board. Probably won't be on one channel. Given the symptoms, I'd first suspect the power supply is going wonky on you. One common failure point for electronics is electrolytic capacitors. The tops should be flat. If they're domed, replace them. Good luck.

iv'e had the same problem on two of my mixers i bought by them now i recently bought another one the x1622 the cheapest one brand new and found when setting it up that one of the channel strips wasn't working i read the warranty and it said they don't do repairs or take responsibility for faults.

+James Hunter I opened mine up a few weeks ago, turned out to be a bad capacitor on the power supply unit. Easy and cheap self fix if you know what you're doing and how to solder.

good luck even getting in touch with any kind of behringer support. I have had two of them die on me too. the latest i bought used but it blew within days. I cant afford to just buy stull that dies young
@SonicOrbStudios9 жыл бұрын
+itsdandamage I did call them and they were offering to have me get it repaired, but I'd need to send it off and pay a price. My friend in Washington state has this mixer now, still busted. I'm going to get it form him and do troubleshooting on it and try to repair it myself. Being it happens when it heats up, I figure it's a bad solder joint or something easy.

Its now 2019...I have had my Xenyx2442 for tow and a half years. Now problems at all appart from an occasional crackle. That was until I stripped my entire set up down to do some cleaning - you know what kind of muck collects in the corners! I gave all my gear a clean, used lots of new cables when re-connecting the gear, powered up to do the usual line checking and...yup, you guessed it, exactly the fault you are describing. And now that damned desk won't even power up. I'm pissed off! Did you ever managed to get yours fixed or did you just give it up as a bad job?

Hi man! I just recently bought a Behringer MX 802A from 1998, the very first version comes in a blueish color, and that thing is 20 years old and sounds great i gave it a make up clean up, i need to do some more in depth cleaning to the knobs, the pre amps maybe are not the best when setting gain structure reaching at 4 hissing starts to creep in higher (maybe if they are clean solved the problem?) Also i new to change 2 xlr cables for 2 mogami xlr cables (another solution maybe?) As far as quality it feels like heavy good components, also great sound, i need to test to record with it yet... But i think i have a theory about Behringer products the standard and quality drops with every new model, and the very first products are better, new models comes with plastic and chasis parts, feels more cheap, and this Eurorack MX 802A is pretty rock solid, there was another version of it later in 2001 (V 1.1) also seems pretty solid. Just wanted to share this thought, thanks for making the video and share your experience with these devices, cheers from Argentina.

This is pretty common with behringer mixers. I've had one catch on fire! I suggest you get a pro audio card (presonus, motu or Maudio if you're on a budget). Compliment it with a Yamaha or a mackie desk mixer. The behringer ultrapatch and other simple products of that sort work fine.

Presonus is a very nice, good mixer, not only you have an analog one, a digital basically is. I don't know if you have the same problem, but some parties take the risk to use an expensive mixer... For example, I was hired to perform a wedding in a Zoo... an open space to the elements... I have a QSC TouchMix... a 1300 dollars mixer... that scares me.

My behringer eurorack mx3242x power supply (its in a 4U box with a cable with multiple pins for all the different voltages the desk needs) let out the magic smoke today. It has been in storage for a few years and I got it out a few days ago, kept it all in a warm dry room for a few more days to air out, then ran it for a few hours a day, just enjoying it, then today, pfft. My whole house smells like Ave's underwear. Anyway, I took the top off the power supply and one of the capacitors has shit the bed and blown black soot all over the PCB. Well at least I know which one it was. Ordered another, will try it and see. Hopefully it is just an old electrolyte capacitor gone bad issue and nothing more complex. While I was googling the hive mind I did find other people had similar issues with bad capacitors and voltage regulators. The biggest problem by far though is the absolute lack of support from Behringer. Cant even find a schematic for this board or power supply. And that is a bastard because the functionality is outstanding, when it sodding works.

@@anthonyk5496 HA HA HA, Damn right. There is more to the story. I suspect you wern't expecting a book story lol. I had itchy fingers.... I replaced the cap. Re-assembled almost everything, turned it on for a quick sanity check, worked fine. Finished re-assembly, which was putting the fan back, and securing all the voltage regulator chips (LM317?) back down to the heat sink with cleaned isolator pads and new thermal bonding paste. Turned it back on. ARC WELDING NOISES and more stink. The bastard thing is somehow (and this took way too much thinking time to get to deciding) shorting to ground (chassis) through the back plate of the LM317 type voltage regulators (which does have the power + on it hence the 'insulating pad' and thermal bonding paste) to the heat sink. It isn't the cap, its an arc short UNDER the cap on the PCB which must be the weak pint in the PCB layout where the dead short jumps tracks.... . BASTARD! . At that point, having suffered a week of living in AVE's pants and now having refreshed the aroma for another week of stench I gave up, screwed the lid on it and threw it back in it's flight case. It is still there waiting for me to pluck up the courage to have another look at it. I know it is going to involve some delicate Dremel work to dig out all the results of the arc welding on the PCB under the cap, fill the hole with some sort of non conducting epoxy and overlay new tracks on the PCB where they were fused away. Non of which I have any experience with (but I have watched hours of youtube so that counts? right?) It's such a damn shame, it's is such a versatile bit of kit. I have been looking at a Soundcraft desk, the Soundcraft Signature 22MTK USB Interface Analogue Mixer, at around £800 uk it is a lot of money but with that you get RELIABILITY, and multi track USB in out for 24 in 22 out with a DAW. There is a smaller version but it is the extra aux sends and comprehensive Eq that makes the Behringer so bloody useful and the smaller Soundcraft version has less. Just breaks my heart to throw away a working desk with all those faders and pots and buttons and xlr sockets and jack sockets... Might end up stripping it for parts but that is on the bottom of the list below build space ship/check earth not flat..... Hmmmm? I could use some parts in the space ship, maybe I will move it up the list.....
