Limit switch: in classic Moog style filters, when you increase resonance, the non-filtered-sound starts to decreased. Some people called this ‘passive filter config’. The other way around, classic Roland style filters, when you increase resonance, there’s an amp that boost that non-filtered-sound. But it has to be tuned, because it’s easier to cranck all the sounds (and, yeah, they’re called ‘active filter config’). The 2500 may have a switch to select between these 2 config. The famous feedback loop in the minimoogs was a way to boost that low freq sound, but you were also getting saturation and noise into your mix. Great video!!!

I guess u have used many filter modules, but for me the 2500 is the sound of my youth. I will be completing the system eventually. I hear there be 10 in total, with the rather sexy 1027 to come! Aside from the 1027 I'm contemplating Analogue Solutions 'Generator', ever used it?

For sure you need all modules if the are available. No I never had the generator. It is too big for me. :-) I love the Behringer Arp Clones. It feels like an instrument, not technical.

Just preordered two 1004's, which then led to preordering a 1005, and then a 1047, and when I asked the sales engineer to go through the list of new modules on the way one more time, led to me preordering a 1036 as well... oops, lol. Still waiting for that 1036 review :D

I will do. I will do if available.

Ah the 1036 is in my rack. But its Hard to make a Video out of it because you have 100000 possibilities. Its all about the user.

The limit switch causes the gain of the filter to be automatically adjusted to unity at the resonant frequency. This stops the filter from overloading on high resonance peaks. The theory of this filter is described in a paper by Dennis Collin in 1971. It's available here is you are interested: www.guitarfool.com/ARP2500/DennisCollinPaper.pdf It's a great filter

Great demo, I had the Analogue Systems version of this module and was amazed fave filter - will be getting this shortly Dis you play the notch output into the filter res in? This is an awesome trick.
