You were a BIG help. I watch these KZbin reviews and they skip some details assuming we're all semi-pros and know what comes next. I thank you for explaining the XLR inputs as well as what actually needs to go to the computer USB wise and their corresponding adapters. For my current purposes this set up with the BM800 mic will get me where I need to go for now reducing latency issues along with the back ground noise I was experiencing with my SAMSON C01U usb mic, thanks. Also, the investment won't break me so I can take care of this immediately.

@QrchackOfficial7 жыл бұрын
Just a quick addition - definitely plug your guitar to the instrument input, not the combo input - that one is prepared for mic and line signals. Guitars output very quiet signal and putting them through a line input causes an impedance mismatch. Basically, the interface is trying to "pull current" from the guitar - that'd be fine for a big synthesiser which has a powerful output, but not so good for a guitar which has passive pickups and therefore can only output so much. Long story short, with the combo input through a TRS jack you'll lose some of the highs. Using the instrument input solves the issue.

Three thoughts: First, that's a decent step up from using the little USB sound card. Second, you really tear on the guitar! That was awesome. And third, the Xenyx preamps are decent for a budget system. Their Midas preamps in their UMC series are slightly more expensive and a step up from that. But for those that care, according to Behringer, their UMC series isn't class compliant.

Better than the line 6 shit out there. My god... I bought a toneport when they first came out and I was so mad at how noisy the mic gain was. i keep it down almost all the way and just turn up the vocals post recording so it's usable. The pre amp for the headphones or jack, whatever, stopped working right after I got it and they didn't give a shit back then about customer service so i got shafted on warranty (they said it was my fault lol, yeah, ok). Plastic housing similar to this with much less. Supposedly zero latency, but it crashes my pc all the time. Have to update, but I'm probably going to go with the UMC22 after seeing this reminds me of how crappy the build is for line 6. Thanks for the review. Also, for those getting line 6 gear, something to think about, if you ever upgrade to a better interface, you have to pay them extra money for an ilok or something to use their software without using the interface. They're cheap bastards.

I got the Behringer UMC22, it just a few dollars more expensive but the build quality seems much better : full metal body, sturdy front knobs, and non-wobbly XLR and Jack connectors. I can't compare preamp quality (UMC22 comes with a Midas preamp and not a Xenyx like the UM2) but after testing it has low noise if you don't go over the top with microphone gain. Important thing to note : UMC22 output is 2x 6.35mm Jack and NOT RCA. I definitely recommend the UMC22 over the UM2 :)

Jarhead6 I don't think it would offer much of an improvement. The preamps and Analog to Digital Converters in the ATR2100 are probably similar, if not better than this thing.

Hi Bandrew! I wanted to start podcasting and streaming and was looking for an audio interface, but I'm totally new to this world. I've seen this U-Phoria UM2 and the Neewer NW02-1A Consolle Mixer. Are they different category products? Which one do you advice? I see Behringer has USB output that makes it somehow digital? It sounds cleaner? :( I'm so confused xD

Dynamic mic + preamp Or Condenser mic + preamp Or Condenser mic + usb interface um 2 Or mic + usb sound card Suggest best in chipper budget..

Tough stuff. Mine was submerged in water while on when my house flooded but it still works perfectly after drying out
