Thanks. I like how by using some of the local XLR inputs give you the full functionality of the front-end, that really opens things up a bit. The only downside is the limitations of the re-map but I'll go play with that this weekend on an existing user mapped configuration. I am really liking that the remap gets me around most of the configuration issues that the "banks of 8" caused. It takes a bit more time to route though.

Hi. Great video. One thing I am actually doing with my AUX 1-8 is receiving 8 mix out from my DAW! Almost all my 32 allowed physical inputs are occupied, including some AUX physical Inputs. I have relocated the USB thumbdrive player to channel 35 and 36 and all my instruments, mics are on ch 1 to 34. Only the return from my DAW is on the AUX faders 1-8. I have been using this configuration for about one month now and I haven't seen any problems with it. But I do not completely understand it. Someone on a Facebook group in french explained it to me. And it worked!

@@kaioyoca there is an error in my previous comment. Actually I'm using local INPUTS ch1 to ch 30 for instruments, than 2 inputs for the USB thumb drive (ch 31 and 32) and the 8 AUX faders are receiving INPUT from my computer's DAW (card 1 to card 8). So all 40 channels are used.

Always such great content! Question... We have 2 m32 consoles. 1 for FOH and 1 for live feed. If I have something connected to FOH m32 locally is there a way to get that source to the live feed m32. FOH m32 is connected to DL32 and from that a cat6 to live feed M32. I need more crowd and room mics. We have all 32 channels full on FOH and was hoping to utilize the aux channels. Hi Drew, Does the option using "User In" require a certain version (or higher) on the Firmware? Also, does that option work if we control through the X-Edit app on a PC? But anyways, excellent information Drew.

Yes you need to have Firmware 4.0 or higher on the X32 to get the User Input routing. So make sure to download that free firmware update from www.behringer.com. Inside of X32-Edit you will find the Aux Remap after you press Routing, and then tab to Inputs. You will also find the User Input Routing inside of the Routing screen. Hope this helps!

Last night with band, first time recording us with Xlive card in X32 Rack. guitar player went in aux 2 and the rest of us the regular xlr ins, got home and his guitar parts weren’t recorded? What did I need to do to record with an input set to Aux. thanks!

You would want to use the User Input routing for this! You can select User in 1-32 for your home routing, and for the card routing. Then inside of your User Input routing, select the XLR ins you are using and then the aux 2 input. For instance User Input 1-30 is from Local 1-30, then User Input 31-32 is from Aux In 1-2. I'm wondering if a matrix output on one board can be an input to another? We have an overflow room and I already run live stream through FOH matrix, wondering if I can take it and route it to the X32R in the other room so no engineer is needed in the other room.

Yeah! You could send that using the User Output Routing. Step 1: Route the Matrix to an Output (i.e. Output 14, or Ultranet 01). Step 2: Routing > User Output. Set User Output 1 to Output 14 or Ultranet 01. Step 3: Routing > AES50. Set AES50B 1-8 to be from User Output 1-8. Step 4: Plug a shielded Ethercon cable between AES50 B port on the FOH X32, and AES50 A port on the X32R in the other room. Step 5: Using the Aux Remap, select the AES50A 1-2. If you want to use this as a stereo feed, make sure you use two outputs rather than just one. Hope this helps!

The only way you would be able to get inputs on the Dante Expansion Card would be to assign them in your card routing. Hit Routing > Card tab. Here is where you would be able to assign the 32 channels of DANTE out. If you need some more advanced routing, you could then utilize your User Input or User Output. Hope this helps!

I personally am considering remapping some of my tracks to the aux channels in my church. Currently we have the tracks running over AES50 and mapping a few to the aux channels could free up some channels for more mic inputs.

Sure, how about an MD talkback mic? Often times I see churches and shows with a full 32 inputs on a single stage box but they need to add just one or two more channels. If you had an extra stage box you could do this with the Aux In Remap. Hope this helps!

A couple of ideas that come to mind where I might want to run something from the snake into Aux is the drummer playing the click track, or the Keys playing the click track. Or maybe someone on stage is playing the pre service music from their iPad or something.

How do I see the aux in channels in logic pro? Logic shows 32 inputs for the corresponding 32 xlr inputs. I need to map 2 aux ins to logic pro input channel.

The only way to do it would be to change to be from your User Input Routing for the Expansion Card. Basically you would have to get rid of 2 of your 32 XLR inputs, and change them to 2 aux inputs. So User In 1-30 can be from the XLR's and then User In 31 & User In 32 can be from Aux 1 and Aux 2. After you set up the User Input Routing you would want to change the Expansion Card routing (Routing > Card) to be from the User Input 1-32. Hope this helps!

Unfortunately, those aux channels are dedicated to the USB Player. You can re-route channels internally to it, but you would not be able to gain an additional 2 inputs, you would still be stuck to the 32 main channels, and 6 auxiliary channels for the mixer. Hope this helps!

Drew, new to x32 family. started attending a new start up church that had a company come in and setup the routing and system before i got here. one thing that the worship leader would like to have changed is - computer out to aux1 in, and routed to the stage box and local p16. he would like to have it muted when the channel is muted. as it is now, if pad or pre service music is being played, it does not turn off at the stage unless turned off at the pc. is this a routing, or cabling to a different channel issue? when i set up a p16 at the control room thru the p16 port, i saw that many different points of inputs (pre, post, eq, +m, etc), is there an option for the aux ins? TIA!

has anyone had an issue where you set your user routing as he shows here. AUXIN 1-4 set to the 1/4" AUX in 5-6 set to card 31-32 on USER IN tab, I have an MP3 Player plugged in via copper to AUX IN 1-2 and NOTHING. However if I change the Source to card or USB it plays use fine so I can play an output from my DAW to any of the Auxillary by simply changing the source when I am on the CONFIG tab on the selected fader, but I cannot get a signal at all out of the 1/4" for the auxillary

Can I have an insert on M32C? it doesn't have any AUX in and out.

Because the M32C doesn't have physical outputs, the insert would only be internal on the mixer like an effects rack, or the expansion card. Hope this helps!

I don't know of a simple way other than exporting them to a USB drive and then importing one by one. If you press the Utility button, you will find the hidden menu that can help you do this!

you can literally run 38 ins from DL251 or S32+S16 as- 33-38 to aux ins thru one snake. I am sometimes doing this when need more than 32 ins

I would say the two biggest tips I have are: 1. Keep learning as much as you can about everything in audio. Microphones, mic placement, sound boards, DANTE, speakers, etc. 2. Find a place to volunteer to practice the things you have learned. There are way more tips and things you can do, but these are the two main tips for really anyone wanting to learn. You need to learn the knowledge in a book, website, or video, and then you need to apply that knowledge into skill with your hands. Hope this helps, Happy New Year!

Fair point! Aux 7 & 8 don't technically have a physical input, they are default to be the USB Player Left and Right. You can change the routing to these two channels, but it would be from the 32 main channels, the Aux remap or internal for the FX returns or mixbusses. So typically, I will just only think of Aux 7 and Aux 8 as the USB player as there is no dedicated input for it.

I map two mix buses (1 stereo in fact) to them and use them as a stereo source for my monitor out, in order to maximize the physical outputs of the console because i am using the x32-rack as a monitoring mixer for my band. This way we achieved 6 mono outs and 5 stereo outs without the need of a stagebox.
