Behringer X32 Introduction and Walk Through Guide

I had a hard time finding the information I wanted for the Behringer X32 Producer. There is a multitude of great videos on KZbin that talk about the mixer. I found most of these videos were made for advanced users. I also found some of the information I was looking for after sitting through hours of these videos. I decided to make a few videos for us beginners so we can get started using the mixer right away.
This video also includes options for external gear that you can get which will enhance the capabilities of your Mixer. I am not employed by Behringer and I am not sponsored by them. I am providing an independent analysis of this mixer and I am simply one of their customers trying to share useful information that I discovered about this incredible mixer. I use it primarily in a home recording environment. This video is the first video in a series about learning how to use the Behringer mixer.

As far as you know, the eight output faders can be configured as input faders to have 24 input faders at hand at the same time without having to change layers. It would be useful for live. With the compact model it is possible by pushing 1-8 and 9-16 at the same time even if it does not appear in the manual.

The reverb effects in this unit are really good. They are modeled after Lexicon reverb units

@@kevingad3014 In order to do that I would need to buy a Macbook Pro and Logic Pro X. As far as a DAW for Mac goes I think Logic is one of the best options. I also think Apple makes great products. However, I don't have money right now for a Macbook or Logic. Currently, my music budget is going for some new gear. If I wind up owning a Macbook and Logic pro in the future I will make some videos. But that won't be anytime soon.

I'm in the process of learning this soundboard. Not sure if I missed something. But let's just say that I want to adjust how the sound is going out on the mics and instruments online such as live streaming. What do I do to adjust volume for each channel and how the sounds pan on right and left speakers in someone's headphones/TV etc. when they are listening in?

There are a lot of variables in your question. The answer would depend on what software you are using for streaming?, how do you plan on interfacing the mixer with the computer? Are you using any other hardware when streaming? There are different ways to set this up for streaming and which method you choose would determine your answer. Sorry it has been so long before I answered your comment.

Hi there! I'm very familiar and comfortable with the original X32, but we're considering moving to this version of it so it can be rack mounted in a road case for ease of transport and setup, but my main question is, how annoying is it to not have the scribble strips? I was all ready to pull the trigger, mind made up, and then I saw there's no scribble strips on this version and that might be a total deal breaker for me. It sounds like extra steps to be able to figure out what page and where you're actually on.

Even though I don't have the scribble strips I have access to this function when I use the app. When I go live, my laptop plugs into the mixer via the Ethernet jack. When I run the app I have access to the Scribble strip feature because it is built into the app. Having the PC also allows me to do live multi-track recording

I'm looking to get an X32 board to use as an interface for recording drums. Do I have to get a crazy expensive PC to run my DAW or can I go out to Best Buy and pick up a decent Dell(I5)??

I don't think there is any such thing as a decent Dell. I can say that because I have owned several of them. But yes, you could go to best buy and get a PC that will work. The minimal system requirements would be an i5 with 8 gigs of ram. I have even used a laptop that has an i3 and 16 gigs of ram. Make sure that you have an ethernet connection on the computer. Look for this if you buy a laptop because not all laptops have them and you will kick yourself later if your computer does not have one. The best performance would be an i7 with 16 gigs of ram. However, Keep in mind that the more powerful the system the more tracks you can run and the more plugins you can use. Once you push past 20 tracks and load some plugins on the i3 you will run into problems. An i5 will 16 gigs of ram will give you about 50 or 60 tracks before you have issues. I have an i7 with 16 gigs of ram is the best option. The largest project I have ever run on a system like that was 150 tracks. Most of my projects are anywhere from 25 to 60 tracks. I would look at ASUS first. Those are some of the best computers I have ever purchased. Next would be ACER, Lenovo, or HP. If you get a gaming computer you will have plenty of power. It should have everything you need.

Routing is determined by what you want to do. All your doing is taking a signal from one location and sending it to another location. You are choosing what route the signal takes to reach its destination. A while back I made a video that talks about routing for recording applications.
