Allen & Chad, thanks a ton for posting! I like your verbiage lol, I think of the DCA's as the Subs, so I'm glad you called them Subs. Appreciate you taking the time to make the tutorial. (Perhaps you could do another video? How to set up a channel: put the selected channel at 0 or Unity, then turn up the Gain/Trim up to check that it's hitting, on the meter, at 0/Unity so that there is adequate input signal etc, etc.) Thanks again!!

Great overview. The church that we have ordinations at has this console. It will not read mp3 music recorded on a usb stick. I tried recording in WAV and it said it was the wrong speed or something.... any advice? We were able to get it to read with a line in to my laptop but it is a mystery why the usb cannot be read. Thanks! Great overview to understand the versatility of this board.

Hello. Your video is excellent.. I am new to the Behringer x32 compact. I am trying my best to find way around it. Just a few days ago I cannot get any audio feed to go to the monitors. The two main speakers work great but my 3 floor monitors have no feed coming through them from the console. What advice can you give me? Thanks

Hey!!! I NEED HELP. So, someone from musicians thought that they know the soundboard better than me. While I was out they messed with the board. Now, if I turn down both the fader and the main L & R to negative infinity the sound still comes from Main L & R. I have been trying to fix this issue but I could not. I found that the bus group 3 & 4 (which are the L & R stage monitors) have an effect/involved in this situation. Could you help me out with this issue? Thank you

So how do you actually make the group masters in the first place? I’m having issues with the routing on the x32 at the church I’m running sound at. It seems that the group masters will only work in parallel, whereas I’m trying to treat them in serial. Is that possible on this board?

Hi there I'm Sam this seems to be a very interesting video I did live sound for my church for about 14 years always used traditional analog mixers with all the Redundant knobs. That's what I'm accustomed to you. Due to personal family situations I've had to step down for a while for the time that I was gone they have switched to a digital console what tips or advice would you have for someone who is barely just getting into digital consoles?

We have the same console at my church and I've been using it for a while but one question and I don't know if you know how to answer this but we actually have a bus that we've set up for the live streaming, but I can't seem to adjust the levels for that bus on the mixer I have to use the app that I downloaded for the x32 and adjust that channel as if I'm using it as an in-ear monitor, but it seems like I should be able to adjust all the levels of all the different channels that are all being mixed together for that one bus mix

Yes, You can either insert a graphics EQ onto the bus the monitor is going through, or use the parametric EQ that is built into each strip,

I am a volunteer and we have just purchased a x32 with the S32 digital snake. I am sure it is a routing problem but we have be unable to get the sound to the mains without using channels 1 &2 but when we do that we have no volume control. I would like to use 14,15 & 16. Also is there a way to get some good online training for beginners? Thanks
@plunkettjbrandon
@plunkettjbrandon 8 жыл бұрын
+Peter Aveni so, I'm not completely sure of what the problem actually is, If you would like, You could email me at bj@calvarylhc.com and we could dive into it a bit deeper and see if we can't figure out what's actually going on. I think it may be a bit difficult for me to do so on youtube. as for training for beginners, Behringer does some live webinars on occasion that kinda go in depth with the x32, you can find some of the past ones on youtube, some of them are pretty informative. Though there is a lot of information in them, and some of the information tends to be aimed more towards more advanced users. I would recommend watching anything you can find tutorial wise on the console and learn what ever you can. Hope to hear from you, have a good one.

We are looking at X32 as well for our church and I'm wondering if you can recall scene per input channel basis. For example, we have various singers who may use different mic at different times. I'd like to recall a scene for that singer to different channel. Is that possible? Thank you!
@CalvaryLHC
@CalvaryLHC 9 жыл бұрын
Laurent Kim You can, What you have to do is select a channel, and then hit the utility button, You'll have to save each vocal/instrument and then you can later load each one as you need it. It allows you to save your gain, eq and compressor settings, essentially, your entire signal chain. and it's loadable on any channel on the board. The board comes with a lot of presets for drums as well as various instruments, we ended up having to save over some of them because we had more to save than was free.

hi could you explain how to assign a fx like reverb to a channel
@plunkettjbrandon
@plunkettjbrandon 8 жыл бұрын
If you're talking about inserting it on a channel like a vocal or something, then you'll press the effects button, and on the main page you'll go to the effect you want to insert. while highlighting the effect, you'll select which channel you want to route it to using the encoders. once you find the channel you'll press in on the encoder to select it. once that is done, you'll see to the right of the channel encoder will be two more encoders that say "Insert" on them, once you press those in it will make the effect active on the channel. a way to know if it's inserted or not, the insert on the picture of the effect is gray, it means its not active. once it is yellow it is active.

We used this video to set up our monitor sends last weekend but they are still working post fader. We have the s16 so we had to change the settings to use outputs 9-16 instead of 1-8 in order to retain the mains on 15 & 16. Help?
@plunkettjbrandon
@plunkettjbrandon 8 жыл бұрын
+Living Water Fire Protection If the monitors are actually floor wedges, you'll want them running post fader. You'll want to have the ability to turn them down if you need to. If for some reason you don't want them running post fader, you can change them in the config setting for the bus that it's on. As far as the s16, I'm not sure what you need help with. If you want to give me some more information on the issue, I will do what I can to help.

One question bro! I thought you could plug this mixing table to a pc and that you could (ALSO) record your mixdown as if you had a simple usb mic... but there is much more... Is there a way to send just one channel to usb so that any software can use that sound. Skype... Hearthis.. Audacity... windows sound recorder...
@plunkettjbrandon
@plunkettjbrandon 7 жыл бұрын
That's a good question, I've never tried to do that, but I imagine, you might be able to find something in the windows audio config settings. I would imagine it would show up as an audio interface as soon as you plug it into the usb. though, keep in mind it may not give you the option to choose the channel, it may show up as a stereo input. Again, I've never tried to do anything like that myself. Let me know what you figure out when you do, I'm actually kinda curious about this myself.

Hey J Harper, This specific console may be a bit overkill for your needs in terms of channel count. They have smaller versions of this console such as the X32 Producer, ect. There are also smaller digital consoles that would be perfect for your needs, such as the Yamaha TF1, PreSonus Studio Live 16, Behringer X32 Producer. All of these consoles will have similar features such as EQ and Dynamics, but are a smaller format which will be easier to use for 6-8 microphones plus Stereo inputs for iPod/Computer. tl;dr - Yes, it will be a great board for your needs, however, it may be too big for what you need.

@plunkettjbrandon

If you have monitors, you can mute them, If not, the other thing you should do is turn back the gain a little, which can help, Also, Use the eq, I would put a lowcut going up to about 100hz, then a PEQ cut at 220hz about 4ish db another one at about 330hz sitting at -4db and then another one at about 600hz another 4db cut. the width is about 5 for each one. Granted, these are all specific to our current sanctuary, and our sound system, They may change a bit depending on your room, the last thing is a compressor, a good starting point for a speaker, thresh is -36 ratio at 3:1 Gain at 6 and knee at 1, attack 10ms hold is 10ms and release is 151ms, Those are good for keeping peaks down, and they can also help keep your gain levels lower. As I said before though, these are settings I use in our sanctuary, they will vary slightly depending on your system, and your room, and it will depend on if you have it eq'd flat with a graphics eq.
@235orly
@235orly 10 жыл бұрын
wow thank you for all the information i will use these settings and see if there is any change in the feedback. we do have monitors which are giving alot of the feedback out of anything else and it does have a messed up XLR cable which we are going to change out.
@plunkettjbrandon
@plunkettjbrandon 10 жыл бұрын
235orly no problem, Like I said, it's going to depend on your room, But definitely mute the monitors, if there's any sound coming through them, the mic could be picking it up, also, make sure the pastors mic isn't feeding through the monitors at all, and you can also put a gate on it, that will help prevent things other than his voice from activating the mic. If you're able to, I would try to get with the pastor during the week sometime, and try to mimic the feedback, that way you can figure it out, with out the stress that comes from it happening in the service.
@235orly
@235orly 10 жыл бұрын
we use the monitors for the chorus to hear the music and there voices when they are singing so i don't know if we should mute them or not. but i will try changing some of these settings and see if i can eliminate some feedback
@plunkettjbrandon
@plunkettjbrandon 10 жыл бұрын
235orly monitors for choirs are a challenge in itself, super sensitive mics, paired with loud monitors, tends to cause a lot of problems, we deal with it anytime we have our choir up, or want to add instruments to the band like cello. sounds to me it could be something more than just your pastors mic. As long as the pastor isn't talking while they are singing, muting the monitors won't cause any issues, as long as you remember to unmute them when they are singing, that's where mute groups come in handy, you can mute and un mute them all with one button.

hey is your behringer x32 main output going through powered speaker or amplifier so are you still use them an equalizer in main output of your mixer?
@CalvaryLHC
@CalvaryLHC 7 жыл бұрын
Our Main Outs go to a Speaker DSP unit in the Amp Rack, where the signal is separated and sent to the proper drivers. We prefer to leave the EQ flat on the main output and use the EQ in the DSP unit for correction.
@mrjn5786

so which means you don't need to use a pa graphic band equalizer while you have a behringer x32 with built in audio processor on it?

hey i have one more question. how many main output has a behringer x32? i always see it's in section16 and 17 if im not mistaken.. is that the only main output? how should i connect multiple speaker in front stage? just like line array and powered subwoofer?
@CalvaryLHC
@CalvaryLHC 7 жыл бұрын
You can assign any output to be the "Main" output. As an example, I would assign OUT 14 as the "M/SUB" output, and 15 & 16 as my L and R respectively. Then, for all my Right side speakers would be fed from 16, and my left side speakers would be fed from 15, and my subs would be fed from 14. If your using a line array like the QSC KLA's, you can simply daisy chain each box to each other. Just make sure you follow the speakers instructions. For anything outside that realm, I would HIGHLY recommend you seek the help of an integrator who can walk you through the process and make recommendations based upon your specific situation.

This should allow you to use the digital snake for the second sixteen channels.
