this is probably my best video so far on this BX32 mixing board on how to use it. Probably more explicit the behringer guys that gave so called "Fundamentals", or what soever tutorials on how to use the x32. I am so impressed with the step-by-step explanation and it make sense so far how you connect its functionality. From Gain to EQ, Frequency to mix Bus to output, I have never got clearer understanding on mix bus before now. Thanks so much, Please in your next videos, work on your camera angles to be able to zoom in and out at different angles for more detail shots. Tenki Ya (From Sierra Leone)!!!

I just want to say thank you for this video. My church just had one of these given to us by another church. Our old sound board was hit by a power surge and I am rocking to get this board going. You have given me a great start at understanding this board! Have a blessed night!

If you need any changes to EQ during the gig, I recommend doing the opposite of a sound check and pulling the gain down on the frequency band and then moving it around. It’s not as easy to find the trouble frequencies, but it makes it less noticeable to the audience.

The 4 aux sends are useful as opposed to busses when you want to feed stuff to floor monitors or in ears, because you can turn up whatever instruments for that monitor. It was originally doe that way for that purpose. Busses are more useful for other rooms/feeds and such like you explained. Good to keep the two separate and avoid confusion esp. if someone is coming in to sub or work the boards.

Only half way through but EXCELLENT video. Only suggestion would be that I wish I could hear what the questions being asked were. It just sounded silent here.

The gate is good when you have a guitar or other instrument with some hum on the line. Set the gate to cut the hum so it mutes the audio until the instrument is actually being played where the audio will be much greater than the amount of hum heard and therefore it will not be noticed. If a noisy guitar amp is not gated, when there is no music being played, a noticeable hum can be heard over the silence.

Great video thanks for that. Im struggling a bit by how do i add or reduce basic bass mid and high like on a analog to a vocal singer? not a specific frequentie. Just in general bit less bass, drop more high, bit more mid...?
@FirehouseGuitarsGrandville
@FirehouseGuitarsGrandville 2 ай бұрын
To drop lows / mids / highs, you would still use the eq for the channel. Instead of choosing a specific frequency, leave the Q wider so you are affecting a set of frequencies compared to using a tighter Q that would affect a single frequency. On digital mixers, there are not bass / mid / or treble knobs so it forces you to know a little more about frequencies than on an analog mixer!

The high pass filter can reduce the popping sound from somebody talking too closely (spitting into) a microphone. A woman's voice is generally in the higher frequencies and the filter can be set to a higher frequency. A man's voice is generally in the lower frequencies and the filter will probably need to be set lower to prevent removing too much bass from his voice. The type of high pass filter affects the slope of the filter and whether it is a gradual attenuation or a sharp attenuation at the cutoff frequency. On my A&H GLD112, I set the high pass filter for the microphones for 24dB cutoff of around 100 Hz - 135 Hz.

I just got this for my church. You may have answered this but is there a way to adjust the volume on the monitors for each individual channel? For example if my pianist needs to hear herself more on the monitor, is there a way I can turn up her monitor output only without turning up her slider?
@FirehouseGuitarsGrandville
@FirehouseGuitarsGrandville 7 ай бұрын
Definitely! There are two ways to accomplish this. Click select on the monitor bus send on the right side of the board then select the sends on fader button in the middle of the console. This will make it so all of the faders on the left of the board are controlling their send to that monitor output. Move the piano fader up until you get the level that she wants, then select the sends on fader button again to go back to normal. The other option would be to click select on the piano channel on the left side of the console. Once you do that, all of the knobs at the top left of the board are active for that channel. You have 4 vertical knobs immediately to the left of the screen that are your bus sends for that channel. You can then adjust the proper know that lines up with that monitor output and you are good to go.

Thanks for the training. Really impressive. Would like to know more on setting up vocal mic, sound, pitch, etc... Starting from scratch. What is level is best for vocal mic ex.( 0, -10, -20, +10, etc..) really could use the assistance with setting up mics for vocals from the beginning.

First obvious question, is it muted? Otherwise, you will need to click on the Routing button next to the main screen, then tab over to the Outs 1-16 tab on the screen. Make sure that everything lines up for your outputs. If you have Analog Output 01 selected, make sure that the Output Signal is set to MixBus 01.

Running a huge FOH,There is no such thing as sweeping.By doing so.You're gonna fry the speakers.PA companies never liked engineers with those sorts of behaviour.Just by listening,One should know your frequency notes well 20hz-2000khz.B4 even getting behind the board.

Terrible habits suggested in the first half: Gating snare and vocals. Boosting frequencies to find overtones. These are no-nos. Also when he was talking about ear training he sang a tone and called it 500 but it was much closer to 400. Worship engineers are the worst sinners.
@FirehouseGuitarsGrandville
@FirehouseGuitarsGrandville 6 жыл бұрын
Boosting a frequency temporarily is a great way for an untrained ear to be able to find the problem frequencies that they wouldn't normally be able to find and solve. Gating snare and vocals is common in all live sound environments. Helps eliminate cross talk between open microphones. Obviously you can get into trouble if you set the gate improperly, but otherwise a good tool.
@paulminorproductions
@paulminorproductions 6 жыл бұрын
I would respectfully suggest that cutting and sweeping is just as effective as boosting and less annoying. You should never gate snare because it cuts out the subtle grace notes and fills. It is way too dynamic an instrument to pick a level to chop it off. Same applies to vocals, there's no way to find the perfect level for a vocal that will not eventually lead to cutting out some syllables when they sing a subtle word or drift off mic, etc.
@tsht
@tsht 5 жыл бұрын
@@paulminorproductions But you are not forced to cut with the gate, you can select different ranges so I guess it's fine tuning
