Behringer x32. This is a tutorial vid series for our sound team at North Strand Community Church. Feel free to chk it out!
Vid #5
Note: I have found the the odd numbers link to the next even number so 12 34 56.
I'm not having luck linking odd to even like 67 89...if you have figured that one out, if it's possible let us know!
In response to Bobert871 - link for manual

Hey you just have to be on home then select the odd number channel then it will give you the option to link . so if you selected ch 1 the only one you can link to is ch 2 If you selected ch 8. you only have the option to link to ch 7. for instant you cant link ch 10 to ch 11. so you dont have to select both buttons.

There is resistance on the linked channels because they are digitally linked, meaning the second channel has to keep up with the first as there is no internal clip to essentially connect them and move them both together. Plus, as they are linked, there is no need to use both sliders. Hope this helps (and makes sense)
@nofear13x
@nofear13x 11 жыл бұрын
The resistance is because you move one up, and it tries to move the second one up to the exact same level. Since it feels your finger on the second fader, it thinks you've lowered fader 2, so it tries to motor fader 1 back down, hence the resistance. Depending on how quickly you move, you can actually send 2 different levels, and it will motor both of them against your fingers, which is also common. You are correct, you should only move one fader on a stereo pair as a workaround.

Pretty funny to me that so many houses of worship use these boards, but I totally get it cause its feature rich and inexpensive. I'm still figuring my way around it, just got one. Thanks for the vid.

Hi, I wish all x32 videos were like this! Step by step! Thank you!! Question: if I want to run music from my laptop to the two faders you linked in this video which I think were 7&8 how do I do that? Thanks again

hi. select your bus 1 then on the "home" page for that bus there is a LINK button. click it. that links bus 1 & 2 making 1 your volume and 2 your pan. SOOO when you select the channel that you want to send to his ears you bring it up and on the home screen for that channel youll see that "bus" 2 can either be panned left or right (it's up the middle to start)

Yeah kinda crazy that it's not easily found even on the x32 web page Behringer has. I went thru their forums and tucked in there I found it. It actually shipped to me only with a quick start guide..seriously?!! Well here it is...still some holes but it's the best they have now...and a few of us thru youtube doin some vids. :) God bless

You can link the bus masters. Then when going to the send encoders the second bus (Right Bus) shows up as a Pan knob. For example linking bus masters 5 and 6, bus 6 encoder in the sends section shows now as a pan encoder.

We are trying to make one of the buses match the mix of the mains automatically. This way our bus (which feeds to our camera) will be mixed with the same output. Any tips on how to do this?

i have a PC running a single audio output to the Behringer (with a single input). A split track from the PC isn't separating completely. Is there a way to split it more directly with the Behringer?

And also when you link the channels it automatically does a panning for each channel one to the left and one to the right...

Firstly, I'd just like to say I really like your widies (as well as KD7QCU's that I've been following). One thing I noticed with the linking (using 1.12 firmware), if you select a channel and then press link, it links in pairs (1-2, 3-4, etc...) so you don't need to do the double select. I'm guessing you may have figured this out by now but just thought I'd mention it. Again, great videos.

Any videos on how to run IEM's in stereo??? I want to run bus 1&2 in stereo for my worship leader's IEM, do I have to set the mix for both busses or will linking the channels "copy" the mix from bus 1 to 2 eliminating the need to make the mixes identical??? My church just got this board and your videos have been an INCREDIBLE help, thank you!!!

Question: How do you link more than two channels or DCA groups? Thanks, I love the videos, by the way. They are incredibly helpful. I am learning to use this board before I get it in a few months!

Hi Guys, Does anybody know how to set up the desk to do Stereo Monitors for In ear monitoring systems. For example when using Yamaha digital desks and the monitors sends are stereo linked you get a pan and a monitor level to work with?

Does stereo linking the channels also link the EQ and compressor settings for both as well? Would those settings be slaved to the odd channel number (1,3,5 etc) since they can only be grouped in odd/even pairs?
@nofear13x

Oh, and don't worry if fader 2 seems to lag behind. Within the console, the levels are linked, so left and right will fade identically, even if the fader appears lower than the other. Good video though =)

Got a question - how to you link channels that aren't even? Such as it will do channel 1 and 2 but won't link channel 2 and 3. I'm using the x 32 producer.
@jameswallismusic477
@jameswallismusic477 8 жыл бұрын
+Kyle Gansel Channels can only be linked in pairs, i.e 1-2, 3-4, 5-6 etc. So no you can't link 'across pairs', so between 4 and 5 for example, or to other channels across the desk. Just think of it as starting with the odd number. I know this was posted a year ago, but figured it might help other people with the same question.

Hi, what would be the purpose of linking channels. Does it sound better? Is it easier to mix or it's just a preference thing?

Bare in mind only adjacent channels can be linked in order, 1&2 can but 2&3 can't.

is it possible to link them but that they are not at the same height? So one stays always 10% under the other.
