Never was the term "blind leading the blind" more appropriate, this guy is giving a tutorial on something that even he doesn't understand!

The reason for the pre-lights only going on when a channel is selected is that pre/post can be handled on a per channel basis, just as you have shown through the Home->sends menu. So it wouldn't make sense to flag a bus master PRE when some channels are being send pre and some post.

Thank you for the helpful videos. 5 mins in, the "pre" when you select a channel: simple to explain. When you send a channel (like channel 1) to each of the buses, the amount you send to those buses is based on the channels own fader or not. "Pre" means the channels own fader cannot affect the bus level. I usually do NOT have "pre" enabled. Let's say you want Suzy to have reverb. If you turn Suzy's vocal channel down using Suzy's channel fader, then you don't want Suzy to go to the reverb either. So then turn off "pre". If you have "pre" enabled , then all you'll still hear Suzy coming thru the reverb even if her channel fader is all the way down. Hope that helps. Thanks again!

+Josephus Check to see if the channel is mono or stereo and what panning law you have set. You may be set for stereo but panned to one side or the other. If you link the channel to the right ie. 3-4 they should automatically hard pan 3 to the left and 4 to the right.

You do not want the Channel fader to control the Aux/Bus. Control the Aux/Bus on it,s own. Send more or send less. A small amount of compression want hurt. The stage and the house is different. Remember Analog?

from what ive learned at the music store ... i think .. busses can send to matrix sends , but matrix cant send to busses .. they only send out .. u can think of it as , a matrix's a busses for the busses ... you have 2 groups of mics so there bussed to 2 places FX Ect. ... now u can combine all mics to one matrix so that u can control as a group , and say cut a frequency on ALL mics with one EQ on matrix if u got feedback or sumthing IDK

Hi, Can I record 32ch into my DAW Post Fader & EQ?
@taylormaid67212 жыл бұрын
From what I've gathered the daw grabs from the input gain of the channel. I'd probably set the gain strong enough for good input signal for DAW and then work the house based on what's coming in the board.
@steevee194511 жыл бұрын
It would be helpful if the Pre LEDs would flash until an input channel(s) is/are selected. Then the Pre LEDs stay on.

To all the flamers: Nobody's perfect :-) He eventually gets it. Monitors will always be pre-fader. Some prefer post EQ, some prefer Pre EQ. Pre Dynamics is best, as it keeps folks from singing/playing too hard. The direct or subgroup outs to the P16 outs will be pre as well - again, chose whether pre or post EQ/Dynnamics. Recording card outs should be pre everything, including the high pass filter if possible.

+TimmyP1955 Monitors are not always pre fader, would they be pre fader if they were controlled with a bus? No they wouldn't. You would set the bus up post fader so the fader controls the monitors volume. Also the original poster should know that each channel can be set pre or post.
@timpadrick278 жыл бұрын
+Stephen Moore The channel feeds to the monitor buses are most always pre-fader, so that main mix changes do not effect the monitor sends. The buses themselves are post-fader so that each bus has a master fader.
@dangertreez8 жыл бұрын
As I said, they are controlled by a bus.

Don't you have a video editing program to cut the parts where you're going nowhere. It' a bit annoying to watch.

+dan wilson Despite what the video had to say and him getting lost, it is still a great console. Doesnt have all the features like a digico console, or a profile console, but it is a great console for how cheap it is.
