I've been following the Bears since the late 90s. Aside from the window of time when Lovie Smith was in Chicago, it's been a rollercoaster of pain and promise in almost exactly three year intervals for going on thirty years. There's plenty of reasons for that, bad luck, poor drafting, incompetent coaches and front offices. But hey, there's always next year.

Just out of curiosity, how do Bears fans feel about Lovie Smith? I almost never hear him get talked about anymore, which is crazy considering he was probably the most successful coach the Bears had since Mike Dtika. He took the Bears to the superbowl with Rex Grossman as his QB and the NFC Championship game with Jay Cutler, and in his last season with Chicago he still did pretty decent going 10-6. A very underrated coach, in my opinion.

@TheNightOwl11683 No kidding. That smug grin he had in week 18 after beating the Colts made it pretty obvious he knew what he was doing. He may have been the Texans head coach, but I could tell the entire season he still had a soft spot for Chicago.

@@matthewcrispin4070Most of us love Lovie. The man took a Rex Grossman led team to the SUPERBOWL. People always seem to forget that. And he got fired after a winning season. They’ve been a legit good team for one season since he left and that was Nagy’s rookie coaching season in 2017/18 😅

@@SonicSlicerThat is an easy question to answer. It is a team sport, Barry is 1 guy. Another thing to add is, the best RB doesn’t get to the Super Bowl very often. The few times it happened are the exceptions, not the rule. And every time it did happen, the offense was carried by a great D. The importance of running is vastly over stated. Passing wins. More specifically, passing better than your D allows their passing to be. Passing isn’t about big numbers either. It’s about efficiency.

I love the Bears/Pack Rivalry. The funniest part is with all the years of HOF QB and all the shit talking. It has only lead to 1 more SB win in my lifetime. The best pet of this rivalry is it has its ups and downs. Now I won’t be delusional and say it’s been quite a down for while now. But this was basically how the late 70s-early 90s was the opposite way. There is a reason the all time record is within 10 games. Always fun to tag on each other. But if Caleb is a bust, they will have a load of fun with it. Either way Groasi is the man. I love him even as a Bears fan.

@@novaterra973as a bears fan in Wisconsin, I can guarantee you, there is no team the Packers fans love ragging on as much as the bears. They definitely don't respect the bears, but they absolutely do not want to lose the ability to look down on the bears. Most bears fans #2 priority (after making the playoffs) is beating the Packers. Just having the cities of Chicago and the largest fan base of Packers being in Milwaukee, yes, the rivalry is very strong, though it's more of a little brother/big brother rivalry at the moment
