@@Man-vs-Metal I grew up an army brat, so we moved around a lot. Mom was career, dad went into civil service. I don't remember him being a major sports fan (though he did like the 49ers) having grown up in Cali. Even so, he was at best a casual fan. In '86, (I was 10) we moved to Germany. There was one TV station and one radio station and with the difference in time zones, there was only so much that made it over when it came to sports at all, so nothing got me hooked. Then everything changed. In '89 we moved to Fort Leavenworth, KS, just a hop, skip, and a jump away from KC. Those were some formative years for me. I didn't gravitate to the Chiefs just yet, but I was well aware of them. That whole first year was getting acclimated, having moved, getting new friends, etc, and in 1990, my dad is participating in football pools, and yes, I'm watching with him. The Chiefs grabbed onto me and never let go. So yes, I remember those years. The not good enough, to the "we almost made it" with Joe, to mediocre under Marty, Gunther, to still some hope with Vermeil to.. how in the hell did we get this bad? In that 7 year span with Edwards, Haley and Crennel we had 2 years of 4-12 and 2 year of 2-14. And then... then came Andy, and it feels like everything is right with the world. We both know full well that a dynasty doesn't last forever. I'm just happy to be here and will enjoy the ride for as long as it lasts. Maybe I should thank those coaches for sucking so badly, because if they hadn't, we'd have never had Andy Reid come in to fix it.
