When he’s saying he doesn’t “know what to do with the burning bush”, he simply means he doesn’t really know how that applies to his life, or how that should effect his daily life. We need to remember it seems like Matthew McConaughey doesn't believe everything in the Lord's word but he needs to believe the whole thing of the Lord's word and who he is because the devil is nothing but a deceiver when it says the second Corinthians 4:4. And the devil and demonic spirits will do anything that they can to whisper things and a Christian's ear is having that Christians start doubting things and slowly over time that believer will lead astray. But we need to remember when someone is truly saved and born again the devil cannot possess a Christian a child of God but the devil won't demonic spirits can put a footing words in our minds telling us that we're not loved or not forgiving or the Lord don't love us. Christianity is not religion it's a relationship with the one and only true God the Jesus Christ who is holy Spirit. And for a true Christian we will know them by their fruits a fruit of the spirit Galatians 5:22:23. And to always love our neighbors as ourselves no matter what. Any other false religions and false idols and false guys are works religions you have to do so many good works to get to heaven.what I mean by this is the Roman Catholics the Mormons the Jehovah's witnesses the Buddhist the Hindus all these are works religions we need to remember in the Lord's ten commandments ye shall have no other gods before me. When Matthew McConaughey was having struggles believing in the burning bush we need to remember just because we breathe in the air and even though we don't see it doesn't mean it's not there. Just like God he is the image of the invisible God the firstborn of all creation. You can take the old Dead Sea scrolls and translate them into many different languages and you'll see the Lord's word never changes. Because the Lord will preserve his word and keep it safe.

@JA-jx1hk3 жыл бұрын
It’s not ridiculous, science only exists because we are intelligible beings who live in an intelligible universe with intelligible reliable laws. Science literally started out because people wanted to explore and better understand the laws the creator has set. Science is a tool, not a worldview, not a person, not a belief system, just a tool and like any other tool it can be wrong and be used in the wrong way by the people using the tool. Science can’t verify logic or mathematics, in order for science to work you need to presuppose that logic and math are true. These are transcendental not physical things. Because of materialism is how we get things like people saying that 2+2=5 and that all of reality is a lie, because yes without anything transcendental to root is reality is nothing more than chaotic sense data and there is no such thing as truth or facts. Obviously, we experience and orderly life every single day, so there’s something grounding us. Even within mainstream science itself, they are all moving on and talking about higher dimensions, other universes, quantum physics and all sorts of stuff that kills materialism. Any staunch materialist is still stuck in the early 2000s. To Christians I would say stop seeing science as the ultimate epistemological tool, scienctific institutions can be, have, and are very corrupt and blatantly lies about many things.

America has been given over by YHVH. We’re under His judgement, and He has turned His face from this nation. Read Romans 1, because it tells you the signs that God has given over a nation, and there’s no revival coming for America, only further apostasy. This is true for many, if not all, other nations as well. It’s not too late for individuals to be saved though. When we look at what the Bible says about the end times, there’s no revival, period. 2 Thessalonians 2 says there’s A GREAT FALLING AWAY FROM THE FAITH before the final Antichrist is revealed, which means professing believers will depart from the faith, and there’s no revival coming. I don’t mean born again believers fall away from the faith, because that’s not possible since we have the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ dwelling in us who gives us the strength to endure until the end. I mean those who profess to believe in Jesus Christ, but are not born again, they will stop believing in Christ. They’re the tares amongst the wheat, and the seed that was sown that didn’t fall on fertile ground, but only endured for a short time because they were not rooted firmly in Christ, in the Word of God. The latter is exactly what we see happening in the world. People who are departing from the faith, because it takes the indwelling Holy Spirit to give any believer the strength to endure the persecution by the world that’s directed against followers of Jesus Christ. If you believe in the true Jesus Christ of the Bible, the Jesus Christ who is Almighty Jehovah in the flesh, the Jesus Christ who the Bible says created all things, both visible and invisible, and you uphold the biblical truths of God about what is good, and what is evil, then you will be hated and persecuted by the world. If you’re a compromiser who does not uphold the scriptures, or you profess to believe in a false Christ who is no different from any other gods of other religions, then the world will love you, but Jesus says if you deny Him before men, He will deny you before the Father. There’s only a small remnant who refuse to compromise. The majority of professing believers would rather be friends with the world than be faithful to our Lord Jesus Christ. That’s just the plain truth, and if you look at the world church system, you see it clearly. Churches which teach the truth of the scriptures are not popular, they don’t have thousands of people flocking to them, because this world wants self-help gurus and ear ticklers as preachers. This world does not want Holy Spirit filled preachers who preach the truth of God’s Word, that convicts sinners of their sins so they will turn from sin to our Lord Jesus Christ, so that they will come to repentance and be saved. But the reality is that only the truth of God’s Word is going to set us free, and for that, I’m thankful for the few preachers we do have that preach God’s Word without compromise, regardless of whether or not they’re liked by the world.

The Bible has not been “translated over and over” or reinterpreted. We still have ancient manuscripts from as early as 400 BC. Get your facts straight.
@zacharyshort3843 жыл бұрын
Having ancient manuscripts that old has zero bearing on the fact we absolutely don't have any original texts for, say, The New Testament. That's a fact. One of significance.
@kamu7473 жыл бұрын
The man is right. Let me respectfully explain. The bulk of the original manuscript for the Bible has been lost. It's the copies from those original manuscripts that were discovered that have been translated and re interpreted several times based on newly discovered information, understanding of the time period and much more. 1. If you read a Bible in English or Spanish or French or Swahili or in Portuguese or in any other language other than the original languages found in the source manuscripts from which they are based (Aramaic, Greek, Syriac, Latin, Hebrew) then it is translated. And if you speak several languages you'll notice that when someone translates a phrase from one language to another it will change based on interpretation, different people will interpret the same message in different ways sometimes. That's because language is based on context and ones understanding of the message. 2. As for re-interpretation, this is clearly seen in the different Bible Versions that exist such as the NIV's, the King James Versions, the NKJV, the GNB's. Etc... These are all re-interpretations. Let me conclude by saying, you can read further on this by googling this info or even better, reading the Preface of whichever Bible version you have in hand. They explain their process. This is standard with almost all standard Bibles. I can understand why you thought what you thought, not many people know this, for it requires a deep dive of research. But easy and widely accessible research really. I hope what I wrote shades some clarity on the matter. To God all mighty be the glory forever and ever and through Jesus Christ and the grace of the Holy Spirit may we all benefit in wisdom and truth. May God Bless you.
@Jared-Cruz3 жыл бұрын
I would also add to what Kamu said, that the fact that we don't have any original texts of the New Testament, rather we only have copies, makes the case for the authenticity and accuracy of the New Testament even stronger. Since we have so many manuscript copies (~5800 complete and/or partial fragments) of the New Testament in the original Greek, historians have been able to cross reference all of these copies to see what is authentic, and what isn't (historians call this process textual criticism, and it is the way that virtually all historians are able to verify whether or not an ancient text is reliable/accurate). The remarkable thing is that, time and time again, when historians (both Christian and secular) have textually criticized the NT manuscripts that we have in our possession, an overwhelming majority of the manuscripts are in agreement in what they each record and say, and the few outliers that aren't in agreement are thrown out. It would be the same thing as if I went on a trip with some friends, and afterwards I asked each friend to write down their own independent summaries of our trip. Then without me being in the room, someone else takes their personal handwritten summaries and compares them. That person would be able to immediately see the similarities in the testimonies of the friends who actually went on the trip with me, as opposed to a summary written by a person who only heard about the trip but never actually was there as a witness. This is how we know that the New Testament is accurate and reliable. To just put this in perspective, Homer's Iliad is estimated to have been originally written in ~762 B.C, and the earliest complete manuscript that we have of the Iliad is from the 10th century A.D. So the first complete copy of the Iliad comes 10,000 years after the original was written. Yet historians inarguably agree that the copies of the Iliad are true to the original. Now we take a look at the New Testament, and we have known fragments of copies that are dated to within 100 years of the events themselves. For example, there is a fragment of a copy of the Gospel of John that is dated to ~125-175 A.D. We know that Jesus historically died in 33 A.D, so this means there is a copy of the original Gospel of John dated within 150 years of Christ's death, and because this is just a copy, that means that the original text is even earlier!!! Amazing! I hope that this can shed some light on the topic for everyone and be a blessing. Definitely an interesting and important part of Christian history that everyone should know. God Bless !!!

No harm, no foul, but if non-believers are dead wrong, it could be too late to ask for forgivenes and they are going to suffer for eternity for rejecting Jesus. Its hard to understand why anyone would not want to try to get to know Him before they make a decision that will determine their eternal destination. God talks to everyone all day long, some just aren't listening. He really does open the door if you knock and if you seek Him with all your heart, you really will find Him. The whole of life is a race, nice to see others on their own race towards understanding, as I am on mine. No one knows everything about everything and we don’t need to in order to believe the truth of what Jesus did, and why it matters. If we can continually learn, that means there are things that we currently don’t know, previously didn’t know, and are yet to know. It’s the surrender to the pursuit that’s what should be noted, not primarily the stage each of us are at, at any one point in time.

When his family heard what was happening, they tried to take him away. “He’s out of his mind,” they said. But the teachers of religious law who had arrived from Jerusalem said, “He’s possessed by Satan, the prince of demons. That’s where he gets the power to cast out demons.” Jesus called them over and responded with an illustration. “How can Satan cast out Satan?” he asked. “A kingdom divided by civil war will collapse. Similarly, a family splintered by feuding will fall apart. And if Satan is divided and fights against himself, how can he stand? He would never survive. Let me illustrate this further. Who is powerful enough to enter the house of a strong man and plunder his goods? Only someone even stronger-someone who could tie him up and then plunder his house. “I tell you the truth, all sin and blasphemy can be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven. This is a sin with eternal consequences.” He told them this because they were saying, “He’s possessed by an evil spirit.” Mark 3:20-30 NLT

It's about the resurrection. You're right that is the central Factor. And John 10 he says I have other sheep that are not of this fold I must bring them also and you will become one. We never stopped during Covid. We never closed our doors - many churches did - the weren't essential. As bikers we can go into places where most middle class and upper class people won't go. That should give a good reference for how long it took to get to where we are.

I appreciate Mcconaghey’s openness about what he does and doesn’t understand. He has studied enough that he can quote scripture that has initially grabbed him. I feel certain he is a very new believer and still learning. I think it’s ok that what has grabbed him first are the fundamental values taught in the bible. After all, Jesus taught those values. So he doesn’t understand the burning bush. Maybe he’s not meant to yet. I don’t know that I take everything at face value, either, as it was written to explain the unexplainable to simple people. I don’t know that it’s that important to understand what he refers to as “the magic tricks.” I think the values should be the first thing you really get. You can be born again and religious. Infact, Christianity is rooted in religiousness and this is important for it is the way, Paul writes about this several times in the different letters he wrote in the new testament. The modern practice of religion may have been distorted from the original ways and the new age teachings that to be born again is to be separate from religious ways is a misinformation / misinterpretation, if of course you are to base it off from the Bible scriptures. I do not have the verses that touch on religion specifically at the top of my head; Which wouldn't even be enough, for a verse with out the greater context of the book can be misinterpreted. I might revisit this chat and point them out, maybe. Never the less, some time devoted to some in depth reading of Paul's teachings will illuminate this truth. The two things go hand in hand. Religion is the practice of the belief and teachings. However, you are all right to say, the belief in Christ and the resurrection is key, that's the born again part. But I do write this before I've finished watching the video.

@@Crezelltree4261 Ok I see what you are saying ....Sorry if I wasn’t on point. We have to believe Jesus as the virgin born sinless man. He never at one point offended God but came only to do the will of The Father. He was with a The Father in eternity past and created all that is then humbled Himself in becoming a man and fulfilling the law of God. He never committed one act of sin....in other words He never did anything wrong by Gods standards which are found in the Ten Commandments. He died on a cross taking your punishment if you believe it and then by faith turn or repent from your sin by faith and put your trust in Him for your salvation. He proved He was accepted as payment and proved Himself to be God by being raised from the dead and now lives making intercession for us and is the only mediator between God and man. There is no other way to be saved . A Holy God can’t allow us to live with a Him in heaven until He has allowed us to be covered in the righteousness of Christ. By faith anyone who turns and follows Jesus and denies himself will be saved. So that being said we can believe these things as the demons do and aren’t saved but we have to believe in such a way as it makes a difference in how we live. If we jump out of a plane with a parachute and if we believe it will save us we pull the string and so to speak if we believe Jesus is who He said we will follow Him and learn from Him in relationship as we read His Word from the Bible.

I said McConaughey had the opportunity to affirm the Bible as the inerrant word of God, but he didn’t. He watered down his belief. The Bible talks about these types of Christians as “lukewarm” and warns that God will spit them out of his mouth (Revelation 3:16). Jesus also says that “whoever denies me before man, I will deny before my Father who is in Heaven” (Matthew 10:33). McConaughey denies God His deity by watering down portions of the Bible. Just calling a spade a spade.

@@salvadorvasquez5292 Christians should be righteous in their judgements. This notion of not being able to be a Christian and also make judgements is a lie from hell. When you judge, judge righteously, for in the same measure you judge, so will the father judge you. I read that in a book you should also read.

Even Peter initially denied Christ but then became bold and went to his death, but didn't reject Jesus. Maybe Mathew is at the beginning of his journey. He's already publicly professing his faith in Jesus Christ. Keep it up, Mathew! God bless you and your beautiful family. Run the race and finish well.

Judge righteously should not be taken with a grain of salt. Reading these comments reminds me of th e Pharisees in the bible who held a close allegiance to the law. Jesus fulfilled the law. You can call "a spade a spade" but I pray that when judgment is on you that you show mercy. "Let he who have no sin cast the first stone" All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Step down from y'all arrogance and seek Gods love and peace.

What confused me so much as a child (in the 90s and early 2000s) was how every winner at an awards show ceremony would start off their speech with, "I'd like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" even when what they won the award for was very obviously ungodly. I did not understand the intent and still don't.

I've listened to Rogan for years and years...I've never seen him speak to anyone with a legit grasp of basic Christian apologetics.

I've noticed that too. I wish he would get Frank Turek on or someone that could actually school Rogan. Rogan is so ignorant in his claims against Christianity.

Closest a believer in Jesus will ever get to hell, is this life. However, Closest any nonbeliever in Jesus will ever get to Heaven, is this life. Let that sink in. Jesus for the win. These guys are screwed, solely bc of their ego. How could God be bigger than them??? How could anyone be better than they think they are...

Pride/ego man really destroys. The root of all evil is money. You can even love money even if you are poor. We gotta be watchful.

“I don’t know what to do with the burning bush everyday in my life.” Exactly. You are outside of yourself. You give that to Him. As you absorb sincerely the scriptures, “being” is changed vs. “doing”. On purpose. You are worthless doing until your being is transformed to rely onHis leading. Matthew reminds me of Peter. Recognizes but is geared to run ahead of His particular purpose.

Exactly. And we live in the day n age where good is considered evil and evil is considered good. Just like the scriptures says. And isn’t he last days people will be lovers of self (selfie generation and narcissism). It’s all coming together.

The miracles signs and wonders in the bible are accounts where The Father intervened in mankind and show us that in Him and Him alone all things are possible. It activates faith and vision, and without vision the people perish or fall back instead of moving forward in regaining relationship with God that which we were intended.

People perish *when* god intervenes, too, apparently. A genocidal flood. Carpet-bombing two thriving city-states with brimstone. Interesting way to have a relationship.
