Dog might not have been a direct racial slur, (I'd have to talk with someone who knows Hebrew and has the original scripture to confirm or disprove that) but it certainly was used in a degrading way. If race wasn't a motivator for calling the woman and people like her "dogs" then what was? The word "dogs" was even reinforced as referring to a "kind" of people when Jesus distinguished the "children" from the "dogs". On top of all of this, It doesn't even matter if its not a racial slur or even racially motivated, because it's very discriminatory and is analogous with the use of racial slurs because it's just as bad and just as discriminatory to a "kind" of people (whether that be the poor, the disabled, or any other qualifier for being a "kind" of person). Also you can't complain about someone reading deeper into a complicated historical verse when you are doing the same thing, but even more so. Even fully buying into all of the historical contexts you provide, Jesus degrading the woman for worshiping idols (which is an idea you had to assume and force into the story) is still just as wrong even if the word Jesus used wasn't the worst word he could have used. To summarize, I disagree with you and the video you're responding to, I believe the Bible has inconsistencies so I don't believe in trying to make the story mean anything because that always inserts bias. I don't like that you and the person you're responding to have agendas to spread warped views of the gospels. Because I am not a believer I am able to see that every denomination and every individual has some sort of warped view of what the Bible is and what its message is.

Understanding Culture and historical language in Ancient Greek and Hebrew is so vital in understanding the overarching point of the word of God. It’s so easy yo get off track without it. I took that scripture to mean that Jesus Christ had a conversation with a woman, totally unheard-of at the time in the middle east, in an effort to "sting" the pharisees and know-it-all-men of custom and tradition, to show the sincerity and wisdom of her faith for the healing of her daughter. I also feel that Jesus Christ actually raised her up above her status to show that God's healings are for any and all who ask no matter what their race and status is. What an awesome God we serve! 💕

Mike explained, it was the profession of the faith of that women, her acknowledging who Jesus is and was, that was the primary point. Take for example - the Centurion. It was his confession of faith that Jesus healed his servant because the Centurion understood who He was. It wasn’t Jesus necessarily “changing His mind.” But I can see how that conclusion could be made. It’s almost a “yes and no” type of answer to Him changing His mind. But as with most things concerning Jesus in scripture, the meanings always has much depth to them. It was her who recognized that through God we are blessed and those around us are blessed or can benefit also, knowing Jesus is the way to that. Unfortunately, people cannot seem to discern what is meant by “Jew first, then the gentile.” Again, P. Mike explains that perfectly. In fact, to reply is to basically just reiterate what Pastor Mike has already said in this video. Well done P. Mike!

Well, he did need to learn things. He needed to learn how to walk, how to talk, how to make a solid joint for a plow, etc. He even needed to learn the Scriptures (remember his parents lost him in Jerusalem, and found him asking questions of the teachers in the Temple). He was/is human, after all. What he DIDN'T need to learn was right and wrong/good and evil. So he never needed to repent, which would indicate that he chose to or accidentally wronged someone (e.g. God). By his divine nature, he always knew what was right, and always chose to do it. (Also, could you imagine growing up with Jesus? "For Moses' sake, Alexander! Why can't you be like that Jesus boy you're always hanging out with? He always listens to his mother! I went to a Bible Institute. Almost every single person I knew went CRT. The wife of one of the students I considered a man became an Antifa shield bearer for BLM. Multiple other students 'came out' - with the President of the school praising them for being honest with themselves. One left a marriage that had a child, at the encouragement of the wife. This is the cost of poor theology. Know your Bible.

This made me so angry 🙈 The story of the crumbs under the table conversation is a story I have held onto when I pray for something I feel like is out of reach pretty much all my life. She's appealing to grace. Tugging on Jesus' heartstrings saying, "yes. Israel is your people. I am not. But even worthless little dogs under the table get something. Please can I have something." And Jesus hears her. He is bastardizing such a precious story. An important story, for those of us that aren't born Jews.

You really need to stop associating one specific group with God, Jews today are not that closely related to ancient Hebrews, and they're Jews, they're heretics, they reject Jesus. God doesn't favor any one specific race, let alone one that rejects Him.

This passage in Mark 7 and in Matthew 15 is one of my favorite passages. I can imagine Jesus taking his disciples on a vacation to Tyre and Sidon (home area of Jezebel) after dealing with the Pharisees earlier in these chapters, and could not be hid. The woman starts by calling to Jesus as the Son of David but He doesn't answer her because she has no claim to the Son of David. Then she cries, Lord help me. Then we get to Jesus saying it isn't proper to take the children's food and feed the pet before the children eat, and she agrees and adds that they still give the pets food from the table anyways. Jesus says her faith in Him was great. He then heals her daughter from demon possession and the woman believes He healed her and went home to find her daughter whole from that very hour. He only says great faith in regards to this woman and to the Roman Centurion. That must have been hard for the Jews to hear that.
