There is a beautiful sculpture in Rome which shows Mother Mary with a crucifix in her hand triumphing over two people falling in the pits of hell . These two men have demented faces in agony with serpents crawling over them . Both the mens have books in their hand one titled Martin Luther and other one titled John Calvin. The sculpture is called The sculpture of the Triumph against heretics. Don't be a heretic follow the one true Church

Most of Americans in the present day are atheist, but the catholics use racial bigotry to attract devoters! I'm from an Spanish and Italian family and I am Presbyterian as well!

Interesting. I'm a mix of British and Irish, and live in England. Here, Catholics are a minority. In Ireland, Protestants are a minority. In both countries people think of Catholics as the oppressed ones historically. But people forget that in most of Europe, and even here during the reign of Catholic Queen Mary the 1st (Bloody Mary as she is now known) it was completely the other way round! I'm descended from French Huguenots on one side. So I know only too well about the persecution of Protestants by the Catholic authorities. I assumed pretty much all Italians were Catholic. So it's fascinating to hear about Italian protestants. I have to say that I personally think all bigotry is wrong; and see people of all faiths and none as my brothers and sisters. I take as I find 😊

When he refers to Christians, I assume that he means evangelical Christians. Protestants, Catholics, and Orthodox are all Christians. And most mainline Protestant denominations celebrate so called “Catholic” holidays and have a lot the same traditions as Catholics. Specifically Anglicans and Lutherans.

@@theduke6174 uhhh... yes they are. Catholicism was the only type of Christianity in Western Europe before the Protestant reformation. It’s the original and oldest version of Christianity. I’m not a Catholic, but we’re all Christians. We believe in Jesus Christ.

@@theduke6174 I’ll put it to you like this... when King Henry VII converted his entire country from Roman Catholic to the Church of England, were they not Christians? Was Constantine not a Christian? The Roman emperor who converted the Roman Empire from paganism to Christianity. (Only one version of Christianity back then). Was Martin Luther not a Christian before he demanded reformation? How about St. Patrick? Who went to Ireland and converted pagans to Christianity. All these examples are pre-reformation and therefore Catholic. The main difference between Catholics and Protestants is that Catholics follow the Pope as their leader. We don’t. Other than that, every version of Christianity has its similar beliefs and its different practices. If you don’t believe me, read up!!

@@pureblood6508 Just because they were the first denomination to use the bible, doesn't mean they are right. Catholics and protestants believe very differently on crucial things. Let me explain you some differences: 1. Catholics believe that whatever the roman catholic church and the ope teach is just as important as scripture. Second: They believe they can pray to marry OR that marry can pray for them, which is very unbiblical. Mary is not holy. She was a sinner like everyone. And nowhere in the Bible does it say that we can pray to anyone else than God. Third: Catholics believe they have to do more than just believe in Jesus. They think they have to do good works too. This is not what the bible teaches in Romans 4:5: 'But to the one who does not work, but believes on him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited for righteousness'. Fourth: Catholics believe they have to confess their sins to a catholic priest in order to receive forgiveness. This isn't what the Bible says. In fact: Jesus sais quite litterally in John 14:6: I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Five: Catholics believe some people go to 'purgatory'. There is no such thing. But they believe people go there if they are not ready to go to heaven yet. They still need to be 'purged', whatever that means. And the list goes on..

As an Italian American who was raised Roman Catholic, and by grace and God’s sovereignty was saved (I am Reformed Baptist), I would love to see scores of the Italian people be brought out from the false religion of Roman Catholicism and be saved. Sola Gratia & Soli Deo Gloria!

@Kid Can you tell me, with chapter and verse(s), where in scripture it states that: -Mary was sinless -Purgatory exists -Statues and deceased Saints are to be prayed to/venerated -People are to use rosaries -There are “venial” sins or “mortal” sins We are dead in sin; saved by grace alone, by faith alone in Christ Jesus alone (Ephesians 2, John 14:6, Acts 4:12)

She meant "christian" as an "evangelical" to differentiate between roman catholicism and mainline catholic protestantism which in most western countried, for example USA where she's from, evangelicals stem from the protestant and reformed christian traditions. In reality all orthodox christians are catholic but not all are "roman" catholic. Romam catholicism is specific expression of christianity.
