The plaintiff certainly should have gotten something for the defamation because the judge seemed like she believed that the defendant went to her job and complained to her bosses and that contributed to her getting fired. In the hallway the defendant was saying that her friend stabbed her in the back, when in fact she is the one who stiffed the plaintiff on her wages.

A lot of "rich" people are cash poor thanks to their poor decisions, so they end up juggling a lot (Like Elon Musk owing child support to one of his children's mothers, but, he's working with Boing on project regarding the ISS).. * but I wouldn't it past the defendant to have inflated her financial background (like all rich people anyways)

If the Plaintiff had to take a taxi to work(for the Defendant) and it was agreed before hand she would be paid back, why shouldn't she be reimbursed? The Defendant's theatrics kicked in right when the Plaintiff was trying to state her case about the defamation. That makes me believe the Plaintiff was being truthful about the Defendant's backhanded behavior when it came to what was said to the Plaintiff's manager/the hotel.

This defendant sullies the good name of Paolas everywhere. I was saved by an angel named Paola when I went to Italy for a solo vacation when I was 28. I had left my medication with severe withdrawal symptoms back in the US, but had somehow brought the prescription papers with me. I desperately ran around an Italian mall, trying to speak enough Italian to a pharmacist to get even a couple pills to ration until I I got back home. A middle aged Italian woman who spoke fluent English noticed me, took me by the hand, led me to the correct pharmacy (they have different ones for basic medicine vs medication), explained my situation to the clerk, and had it ordered (it also didn’t empty my wallet!). She then praised me for traveling alone, and told me she hoped I enjoyed my stay. I tried to compensate her, but she declinedMy eyes well up just thinking about it. Good people are out there. Unfortunately, this defendant is not one of them.

I worked for a rich fella for 6 years. When I quit he was quite angry. Some rich folks get attached to the help. He also had a driver who it turned out had a breaking and entering conviction on his record. He felt pretty betrayed by this guy and fired him. Another time his IT guy tried to leave the company and he called his future employer and told him he better not hire his employee. When I left I didn't tell anyone where I was going for this reason. Funny but he was really good to work for. Was very good to his employees and an ethical guy. He just felt close to those who worked directly for him.

WHAT? The plaintiff is accused of 'stalking the defendant' and yet the defendant says 'she should have just come to my house and asked me to pay her what I owed her'. An employee should NOT have to beg, over and over again, to be paid what they are owed! The plaintiff should have won her defamation suit because her lies got her fired. Also if the defendant was claiming to be so rich, then it is highly likely that she was supposed to pay back the plaintiff for their lunch together and the taxis...
