I feel you my friend, I personally have been in India for 4 years and yes I had the same experience as yours. However, india is so diverse. When I was in south India Bangalore, my stay there was so awesome and people there are welcome. Coming to Gujarat in specific, they are very racist both outside the campus and inside. India is a mini world and cannot explain in one second. You have to explore about our diversity. In my Kerala state there keralite girl has recently married to African National. We don't look into any skin color.we are looking for educated and employed person for marriage in our Kerala state. Only educated person may be from Africa or any country can marry any indian girls. So we don't have any discrimination on clor based. I don't know about northern indian mindset

I am sorry for your experience. i felt the same thing when I was in college in Mumbai. We had African students in our college but they always were in seperate groups and did not mingle much. I always felt since we were in majority it was our responsibility to reach out to our African college mates and make them feel included. Honestly speaking we think when any foreigners come ( other than from the Indian sub continent)to India, they do not mix with common people with the level of friendliness we are used to.
