I've been fortunate enough to travel, and I wholeheartedly agree with you... While overseas I felt like I could exhale for the first time in my life. It's not being anti-American, it's just the truth because there are plenty of countries that are more relaxed, and not so uptight about racial stuff in general.

I hate to be that person but as a black American man who in the past lived in Italy for a few years because of my job, I need to warn you that for what concerns racism against black people Italy is much more racist than the United States. Some other European country can be a better choice for a black American person to live (England, France, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal for example).

@@1FDerek Thank you so much. I appreciate all of the information and suggestions I receive. I’ve been over America for years. So much corruption, systemic racism and prejudice, and it’s so easily swept under the rug. I feel like I’m getting sicker here from it all. Again, thanks. It seems like the problems stem from CLASSISM and stress on status and money as opposed to racism, although there are people who are racist . However, most are just plain curious.
@BPTB124 күн бұрын
Nothing to do with classism, As a black American man who lived in Italy in the past because of my job I can tell you that Italians are just racist against black people, they don't like black people and the dark skin. They're very racist and colorist and many of them are just obsessed with skin color, that's just their Italian culture and their Italian history.

I’ve been researching a country to move to that doesn’t have too much racism. When I here someone say there is, in Romania for example I get nervous but I’ve realized I’m so used to the blatant racism in the u.s that I think a different kind would be worse

Romania is the best. I’ve been there people are very nice and friendly. I didn’t see any black people while I was on a holiday with my husband but no weird or racist incidents. Some people stare but not in a negative way. I would recommend. 😊

Hi. Came across your video. It really helps. I'm planning a move to Italy next year and was curious. Thanks for the feedback. I'm an African African with a British and a French granddad. I've gotta say, this revelation is pretty normal even in Southern Africa. People are the same way here. Mixed European people are treated better than black Africans. EVEN in Africa. My dreadlocks are frowned upon and what-not, but funny enough, it's not really a sore point out here. In reality once people get to know each other, differences are embraced and prejudice disappears. We turn the prejudice into jokes, laugh and simply ignore haters. Now I know, it will be just like home. The lite version though.

Thank you for this…im moving to Padua later this year and i have been deep diving into content like this. There are so many mixed reviews… one video a black girl said she was punched in the face outside a bar, then others have a simular experience to yours. I starting to deduce that our treatment in Italy can also be attributed to how you carry yourself, kind of aligning with what you said about being self aware…that and chance…glad to hear that you’re comfortable overall.
