Hey! I have a few questions Lamia that I would be so grateful for answers to if possible? - [ ] Once you get an internship at the UN, how much easier is it to secure a job afterwards? - [ ] When the requirements say: must have studied something like international relations: is it enough that I studied Asian & Middle Eastern Studies *inc middle eastern politics in my final year? - [ ] Is a law conversion eg SQE recognised as a ‘master degree or equivalent’ by the UN? - [ ] What is the UN job application process like? Do they value previous experience or is it behaviour-based? - [ ] If I am enrolled to study law but have deferred - do I count as a student? - [ ] Is the best way into the UN through an internship?

Awesome video Lamia.🤩I have some few questions though...1.Can a current undergraduate student get the unicef internship that is like a second year student? 2.For instance you live in Kenya and you apply for a unicef internship programme in Dar-es-salaam,Tanzania...will unicef cater for your transport and accomodation to Tanzania? 3.Also how much do they pay one for the internship?

Hi there! (Love your username btw!) You can find answers to some of your questions here: www.unicef.org/careers/frequently-asked-questions-internships and you can also send an email to internship@unicef.org if you're still uncertain about something. Hope that helps, wishing you the best of luck!

Hey dear Lamia, how long before is it best to apply for an internship ? I want one starting May, when shall I start applying ?
@LamiaFarah2 жыл бұрын
Hey Dima, I'd say to go ahead and apply for any internships you deem suitable as early as now because: 1) The application process can take a long time 2) Usually you'll be asked about your availability (immediately, after one month etc) on the application/interview 3) Education considerations are often made for interns - sometimes this means working around class times or internships specifically during university breaks. Best of luck!

Woow! Thank you so much! I was feeling that I am lonely in my journey, but I am glad to see likeminded and focused people! I wonder, how are you doing after internships that you have finished? Just in my experience, I worked in a government job, some time an an academia, and I want to work in UN. But seems like they hire people with 5+ years of work experience, with masters degree, but I have only 1+ years of experience and bachelor's degree. I am not going to be employed in UN anytime soon, but I want to do an internship at the un-related international organizations. The durations typically from 3-6 months. So I wonder, should I consider this internship opportunity as a valuable tool for making connections, and trying to get the job from UN/UN-related international organizations? Or it is just the good experience without practical meaning? (Basically you are working for free, they don't guarantee anything, which means is they just going to use our time/expertise)? I am just confused, should I really consider un internships as a good option, or I should consider better opportunities? (Which might give me more practical skills, and expertise, or with good career prospects) Anyways! Thank you so much! Stay happy and healthy! This is really shaky and turbulent times, wish you internal strenght, and take care!✌
