I know this is an old video but the similarities between us are insane. I started college as pre-med, ended up transferring schools and changed to a double Sociology and history major, then dropped history and picked up IR as my second major. I’m about to graduate in a month and I’m moving to South Korea to teach ESL. I’ve been deciding on whether to go into a masters program for diplomacy after my initial year of teaching abroad. My goal all along has been to work in diplomacy or NGOs and I had someone just today tell me to look into being an FSO. I really liked your video and it’s definitely something for me to think about in the future. 😊

This is such an amazing and inspirational story! Not just for future Diplomats/IR majors, but for people of color or even people in general! You demonstrated how you kept going through setback to setback, and every time it seemed that you were closer to achieving what you wanted, something else would go wrong. However, instead of focusing on the negative aspects or setbacks, you looked for alternative ways to reach your path, even if it would take a year or more out of your life. There was always an opportunity somewhere if you looked hard enough and I believe there are so many disenfranchised people out there who need this type of positivity. It's definitely not going to be easy, and there's definitely going to be setbacks (depending on the person, some will have more than others), but as long as you keep your eye on the prize, keep telling yourself "everything's going to work out", especially in times where it might seem stupid to say so, everything really does seem to end up falling into place in the end, usually in ways that you will never expect, but pushing through hardships instead of dwelling on them will make the doors that open up much easier to see. Thank you for this extremely eye-opening and inspirational video, and I can't wait to see how high this growth mentally will bring you! And to everyone else: Keep Fighting

Thanks for this story. I also came from a lower middle class here in the Philippines. Didn't know any diplomat and etc. But I did managed to pass the Foreign Tourism Officer assessment in my country. It was a far attempt but I've always wanted to be a diplomat and even took the Foreign service exam, though I know I am not really into the service part. I am glad though that I didn't stop even if the environment that I was in wasn't really into the diplomat thingy. Thanks for the inspo. ❤️

This is such an amazing and inspiring story. I love this so much because I feel encouraged to continue to pursue this path of diplomacy. I am an international student pursuing a double major in International Studies and Spanish. I have been questioning a lot of things because of the decisions I have to make soon and watching this video has provided me with so much clarity. I have an internship in Spain this summer and I can't wait to see what this path has in store for me. Thank you so much and continue to share your stories!

Thank you so much for making this video 💕 I'm a junior in highschool, but I've always known that I want to go to China and Korean one day, and I love both languages, but I had a few doubts about whether I could live in those places for a career as a diplomat, especially because I'm a bit of an introvert, don't have any experience being in Asia, and I'm also interested in/good at making video games and running businesses. I believe God put this video in front of me for a reason!🙏 I suspected it from the moment you said you studied abroad in India, then I KNEW it when you said you worked in China! You being a Christian is also such encouragement, and I had a feeling you were a Christian since the beginning of the video! The Holy Spirit works in such unique ways. 🤗 Thank you so much for posting this! I'm going to look into the resources you have on your website and youtube channel! ❤

Thank you for the beautiful compliment. I'm glad you found this video useful! You can definitely do it. I would like to recommend this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ppunaGlqqqerZtk These are college programs you can start looking into now! If you're interested in Korean and Chinese check out the Critical Language Program. Another program is the NSLI program. www.nsliforyouth.org/ It is for those 15-18 years old who are interested in languages. And thank you, God bless.

I've come across this video because I'm trying to find information about being a diplomat. Recently I've been thinking about maybe trying to become one since I love languages and I would have the chance to travel, but I don't know if it's the best option for me. I'm from Spain so here I gotta take and pass a really big and important exam and besides I feel like I should improve my languages knowledge before trying to apply to become a diplomat.
@heymstraveler3 жыл бұрын
Hello. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment. I don't have information regarding the process of becoming a diplomat in Spain, but I do have some videos that may be of interest. If you want something in life, go for it. Just try and don't let anything intimidate you. Sometimes you succeed and sometimes you don't. But at least you know you tried. Have your goal, and work backward. Find out what you have to know/do to get there. Also, there may be similar careers/jobs too that will allow you to travel and speak different languages. On this channel, I will have interviews with people in different jobs as well. I know it's a long answer, but I wish you all the best.
