So they raised VC money "to lend money out". VCs expect about 25% return per year. So you've figured out a way to make much more than that by lending out money in a 1%-interest rate country? Either... - you rake in all you customers in massive credit card debt - or this is a fraud

VCs can make 25% + returns even though the company they invested does not realise profit at all during the period they holded equity. Market share and growth rate can often be enough to create 25% per year value during the beginning of the business if investors understand that the company will be profitable in the future.
