Loving what you‘re doing. From the old beat up truck that requires patience and know-how due to it‘s unique personality, to the commentary and humanity that you add as you navigate through the ebb and flow. Really, it all just makes me jealous and impatient for next year when My family and I will be embarking on a Pan American trip in a 300tdi Defender. As the unwritten disclaimer for owning an old Landy goes : Some experiences may vary. And that is why we love them.
@Thebluelandy11 ай бұрын
The bluelandy is really beaten up. Poor thing, it needs some vacation and workshop love. Knowing this as well makes you more humble and patience. We are at one point in the trip, where we feel a bit the opposite, it's funny. We had such an amount of experiences that it's a bit overwhelming to process it in a proper way. It kind of numbs you a bit. We need to stay longer in a place to be able to enjoy the moment more once we are out again. Never thought we would experience this 🤔
@liljed1811 ай бұрын
I can only imagine. I’m sure that at this point just living this way of life is a full time job complete with overtime. Adding to the difficulties is the fact that you’re away from community that can come together and help with maintenance and repairs so you can take the time to rest and prep for whatever comes next.
@grahames922811 ай бұрын
You are very fortunate to have the knowledge and skill to fix just about any problem with the Defender.
@Thebluelandy11 ай бұрын
Thanks Graham! Just remove all nuts you find, try to not break anything. And then try to remember how to put all the bits together again… I also don’t always make it on the first try. I probably pulled the generator apart 6 times. Everytime I think something is broken I disassembled it and checked what’s faulty, and if I can replace it. If I can not I replace the part keep the old as a spare and learned how to disable is and how it works. That gives me the confidence to do it on the road now.

@RogerTecumseh11 ай бұрын
@Schla-Gulp11 ай бұрын
@RogerTecumseh11 ай бұрын
Lockeren Neuschnee sollte jeder Marken-MS-Reifen packen. 😁
@Thebluelandy10 ай бұрын
Hey vielen Dank euch allen!
@RogerTecumseh10 ай бұрын

@Thebluelandy10 ай бұрын
Hey Andrew thank you! I think the dogs got some fat and ligaments in the end, I’m more in team cat 😂. We have a diesel heater, takes diesel from the main tank, burns it and heats the air of the cabin… works great!

@@Thebluelandy thank you for getting back to me, I’m such a softy with animals, I would have given them something. Interesting about the heater, gas heat burning would be dangerous, with fumes. Anyway good you got heat .
@Thebluelandy10 ай бұрын
Yeah the diesel/air heater are great. Those are standard in Europe for caravaning or so. But in the states pretty rare. Check for Webasto airtop, autotherm 2D or similar ones if you are interested. The heater gets fresh air from outside and puts the exhaust gases outside. And they are super small. But still we got an co monitor in the car just in case something goes to wrong
