Remember that the concept of the series was that an entire nation took over the world and the 100 year war was a notoriously Bender-centric war. Well... that's actually kind of the point of these articles. Basically they're like that friend EVERY woman has in her circle of friends that for some ungodly reason, all the friends go to her for relationship advice when she hasn't even had one last longer than two weeks, in the last FIVE YEARS because she sucks so much. Here's an idea, let's go to a mechanic for advice on heart surgery, he works with his hands, he's clearly qualified. Anyhow, they just want to get into the woman's head who's reading it to make her dissect and over analyze everything guys say to her, in an attempt to make them as miserable as they are. Putting the photos of these women who wrote the pieces is pretty fucking telling. In any case, it's also an advertising tactic. These women's magazines aren't just thrown together haphazardly, everything is carefully orchestrated in which to take the reader on an emotional rollercoaster. So that when she feels like shit because of something she's read, BOOM, advertisement to make her feel better. Not only does it end the emotional torment which causes her to imprint it and buy it later because she finds subconscious comfort when she sees it on the store shelf... there's also the aspirational aspect of seeing someone like Rihanna and knowing they'll never be as "hot" or famous as her, but then they turn the page and BAM, an ad for her make-up, Fenty. So then they reason that "I'll never be as hot and famous as Rihanna/Beyonce/Jenny Lopez/Kim Kardashian/etc etc etc, but if I wear their makeup/perfume/clothes brand/etc etc etc then I'll be a little closer to them than I'd be without it... and then life will be better."
