To reiterate Mark's Fire Department, Police Station, Hospital advice: if you *ever* feel like you are in danger because of an individual following you, and you don't think you can get to one of those places: Grocery stores, Malls, libraries, even fast food places or, if desperate, a School. Places there are guaranteed to be at least a few people around, people who can help or call the police/an ambulance if you need help. Do NOT go to an isolated location, a blind alley, a forest, an empty street, anywhere you'll be totally alone is a no-no if you feel like you're being followed, you want people around you, because a flash mob of strangers can stop a kidnapper or abuser as well as the closest group of freinds.

That first Liam reveal was great. I loved it. The motion of getting up was slow and the grunt/clearing throat made it feel so much more real. This isn’t some teleporting ghost, it’s a human being. That makes it a lot more terrifying in my opinion. But the premise of “I gotta get water” was stupid as hell. It doesn’t make sense because there really wasn’t any logical reason it couldn’t have been a key or a phone. In fact, it would’ve added to the terror, because it would mean that Liam was *intentionally* hiding near the phone/keys in order to catch her. Edit: adding 6:39 so I can access that whole moment to look back on

Seeing marks reaction to creepy guys is so comforting, and giving genuine advice for when you may be in a dangerous situation. Massive edit because the replies to this comment devolved so quickly 1. the 'not all men' statement is true yes, but here is not the place to put said statement, after seeing a very brave person share their story of fear it's extremely innapropriate to pull out the not all men thing at that time. While I agree with the statement to a degree, statistics show that it is most men or mostly men, not to take away the valididaty of those who have been abused by women, their stories are valid and deserve to be heard aswell, just do not use those stories to your advantage as a man. 2. To the person talking about carrying a firearm for safety, while that may be the solution for you, I know many people who wouldn't feel any safer around you because of said firearm, I know many people who experience abuse are not comfortable with carrying or owning a firearm, there are other ways to defend yourseld that don't involve an automated weapon. 3. To all the women, men and nonbinary people who relate to this game (much like myself) I am sorry you had to go through the hell and paranoia that comes with it, know that you are not alone in your fight and that you are strong.

Marks advice is sound about knowing where police, fire, and medical is for when you are being followed in your car. Make sure to always file reports of harassment. The police may not be able to do anything, but it goes a long way towards getting an RO by starting a paper trail. Security cameras, camera doorbells, front and rear dash cams, all with sound, are a huge help in proving stalking. Make sure your inner circle and neighbors know. Make sure work knows. If a person shows up unannounced, TRESPASS THEM EVERY SINGLE TIME AND GET THE REPORT. An RO won't prevent a stalker from doing things to you, but if violated, they will at the very least face jail time. Always carry a legal weapon on your person, your phone, a back up battery charger for said phone, and a small flashlight. Make sure to create some last stand spaces in your home that can be locked and that have a bit of water, food, a weapon, and first aid. Work on methods of egress from your home, job, and stores you frequent. Do not keep silent. Make a scene, ask for help, have back up plans to your back up plans, and call the dang cops. You cannot read the mind of a stalker, you can just know they are obsessive, and if they escalate, it rarely goes well. Protect yourself and your peace. Also check all electronics, your car, and home for spying equipment, gps trackers, spyware, etc. Use secure lines only and use complicated passwords. Change your phone number if they obtain it and harass you via the phone. Always screenshot and save messages to a cloud service to be used as evidence if needed. Do not be passive. If there's one thing many stalking survivors regret, it's not speaking up and getting the cops looped in early. It sucks that the onus is shifted on you to protect yourself but that's just the way it is, so be vigilant and advocate for yourself as much as possible. It's NOT your fault, whatever the stalker does, but fault does little to protect you in the moment.
@dkjcb399311 ай бұрын
even if a filing a report doesn't help YOU, it could very well help the next person who encounters your stalker. hell, it might even help them MORE. the police will go "hmm this is interesting. someone else has accused them of stalking. wonder why 2 separate people have now claimed they are dangerous 🤔🤔"

The grandpa only said he bought the house and by the way he said it I'm guessing he doesn't live anywhere near it. He sounds like he's some rich property mogul or someone rich enough to have multiple estates. So we can't assume he was the one using it. He might never have even stepped foot in the place.

I'm really torn on this protagonist because like half of me knows that, if this was realistically a person I'd been dating for awhile (regardless of them being "toxic" like she mentioned), I'd probably also assume they weren't *absolutely batshit crazy* and would leave me alone if just I skipped town for a bit.... But at the same time, you should've called the cops on his ass the second he threw a fucking rock through your window?!!! Going to an abandoned murder mansion on your own and not questioning any of the sketchy shit going on around you?? Like can we get a molecule of common sense?
@DoubleADwarf11 ай бұрын
@@Tyriad_ - the really unfortunate part is knowing that in a lot of cases, the one getting a rock through their window _does just that_ -- and then _the cops let the stalker go because they don't see any reason to detain them._

Y'know having a Grandpa that lets you stay at his suspicious abandoned mansion is great and all, but the first thing that anyone should do in this scenario is GO TO THE POLICE STATION [and call them on the way there]. Gotta love the good ol' horror protagonist with half a brain cell.

And keep going to different departments if they don’t do anything or tell you not to worry, it’s a really problematic thing and with video games(other than this one bc it shows how bad it is) and shows/movies/books show how it’s “romantic” and people view it as such but stalking becomes really scary and dangerous like this game shows, but if your ever being stalked, take evidence, document EVERYTHING, take pictures of them being at the same place you are, take pics of their car at the same place you are, any letters or gifts they send you, keep and document all, tell friends and family too so they know what’s up if something happens and you have to leave your house and like I said in the beginning go to the police but if the department you go to dosent take you seriously keep going to different departments until someone does

I wish a game like this would try to be more realistic, i actually think it'd be lot more scary if it was. like instead of retreating to an abandoned desolate mansion in the woods and calling no one (lol) imagine a game where you're trying to go about your life while being clearly stalked by an increasingly violent ex. calling the police often, staying with friends and family here and there but being ultimately ignored and eventually hopeless since he hasn't done anything TOO illegal. the cops really can't really do too much about stalkers until they do something violent. the buildup, stress and frustration would make for a good horror game

Liam is the reason a lot of people break up over text message and don't answer attempts to reach them in person.

As to why she didn't just LEAVE the mansion and just go stay in a hotel when that unknown number started texting her at 22:20 is beyond me. That's what I would have done. She just didn't think it terrifying that some unknown person was watching her every move and somehow had her number...Darwin award recipient there.

Feeling like "grandpa" is actually a mob boss, and he sent you to one of his many hideouts.

Too bad he didn't have some mobsters hanging around the mansion for protection. They would have messed Liam up, and the countless other strangers that she keeps running into in this creepy ass town.

that would’ve of been fucking awesome.

I got a jumpscare that wasn’t even from the video. When mark was standing in the grandpas house getting texts from an unknown number I got an actual call from an unknown number. I didn’t answer it but it still scared the shit out of me.

Mark is giving great life advice for us and the protagonist (and impeccable unalife advice for the parking lot guy)

18:48 As a woman, these are real questions I’ve been asked. And it is, in fact, as horrifying as it seems. She gave a good answer. That’s what I was taught to do.
