Being Too Nosey

The plaintiff says he rented a room from the nosy defendant. He says the man went through his room and even charged him extra when guests stayed over. He moved out, and he’s suing for his security deposit and electric bill. The defendant says the plaintiff’s father practically moved in, and the plaintiff broke their agreement. He’s countersuing for outstanding rent.

The defendant said the electric bill wasn’t $160 it was $60 per 4 people. That would be $240 not $400. The plaintiff said it his part was $160. Times four would be $640. Neither one of them can add.

The plaintiff is a weirdo who acts as though he’s never lived on his own, and the defendant has an attitude problem. Of COURSE your utilities are going to vary each month sir. Unless you have one of those fixed-rate plans, it will vary with usage. And yes, you should be expected to help keep common areas clean if you use them. And he was pissed that he has chores to do around the house. I had chores to do when I lived on campus at Job Corps. Every night before bed, chores had to be done. And every morning, beds and trash to take care of.

The problem is he did agree with it. By leaving, that serves as agreement. If he didn’t agree, he should’ve stayed and demanded eviction papers. By actually vacating the premises when the Defendant says “we should go our separate ways”, the standpoint of the law is that he consented. If he didn’t consent, he should’ve stayed and demanded a proper eviction.
